Just confirmed for a 9th season!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I'm 19.
I don't know, I just don't buy that. So, Ted will just meet her and that will be it? While we sit here wondering why she's so great?
I bet this season ends with Ted meeting the mother (whether a glimpes, a "hello", or maybe like what happened with Victoria at that wedding in season 1) and then next season (the series) ends with Ted proposing to the mother.
Can you just PM me who the mother is? I got so frustrated when this show became terrible. Season 1-5 of this show were so absurdly good.
Maybe Jeff can work it into text alerts?
HUge Cliffhanger again tonigh. We are getting pretty close..
Nancy Pelosi - The Gift that Keeps on Giving..
lol, we saw her left hand.
With no shows on for me tonight, I checked it out. THE BASS PLAYER OMGOMGOMG
Was the girl sitting next to Rachel Bilson new or was she from some other episode? Anyone know who she is?
this show makes me want to punch my tv more than any other.
Tonight's episode revealed like 80% of the story of how Ted met the mother. That's pretty huge. However, it revealed 0% of the identity of the actress who will play the mother. Two very different reveals.

I'm almost certain she was in one of the previous episodes with Rachel Bilson. She was sitting at the bar and Ted and Barney found out that they are together
Yeah she was reading a book, Ted was going to make a move on her, was being a huge pussy as always and the reveal at the end showed that she was Rachel Bilson's date.
I thought it was a good episode tonight. As long as they get the ball rolling I'm okay with it, but there is going to be a lot of stagnation with Robin and Barney now being engaged and a couple with a baby being the most boring storyline ever.
Well, they did say the wedding was May 2013, so it would be pretty ridiculous if we didn't meet her either at the end of this season or beginning of next season.
Well, I mean, that’s what it is. I doodoo and then listen to Katy Perry.
I'm guessing we won't see the mother until the first episode of next season in order to have a season-ending cliff-hanger and drum up interest and speculation.
The point is that we know why she's at the wedding.
Theories that she was Barney's sister or knew Barney or Robin in some other capacity are now gone.
i thought that was all out the window when we found out she was one of his ex's roommates.
Really enjoyed last night's episode - was funny, relevant, and didn't try to rush through Robin and Barney's engagement's effect on the group. A nice mix of everything, which is usually where HIMYM hits its stride.

I thought it was Barney's half sister. They made references to her being a student in NYC, Barney doesn't know her and therefore Ted wouldn't have known her if she was Rachel Bison's roommate. It would have also given this mystery person a reason to be at the wedding even though Ted didn't know her.
I opened this to find out what kind of person still watches this show. I never would've guessed it was people actually interested in who the mother is.
FWIW, the show is fascinating from a business perspective. It was nearly cancelled after its first 3 seasons (it's best years), then it went into syndication and saw its ratings get significantly better, to the point that it will now live several seasons past its creative expiration date. I really can't remember a show that had a mid-life turnaround because of being on WGN and TBS 20 times a day.
Doesn't look that is true (unless you look at rank instead of rating). Season 7 had the highest rating, but seasons 5 & 6 were lower than seasons 1 & 2.
1 #54 9.47
2 #61 8.94
3 #70 8.21
4 #49 9.42
5 #42 8.60
6 #48 8.79
7 #45 9.67
Those are total viewer numbers, not demo rates. The shows 18-49 numbers are what matter (ad rates are based on 18-49).
I don't know what you mean, but it had the cadence of a joke.
yeah I'm interested in TV like that. I am even DVR'ng that terrible Cougar Town just to support the idea of giving network shows life after network.
SPeaking of TV, did anyone watch the "choose your own adventure" Hawaii 5-0 last night? I DVR'd it but haven't watched yet. Cool idea.
cruising through season 7 (i know i'm back in the game) ... it's been pretty good, but ummm, barney/ted trying to adopt a baby was kind of a stretch.
although ernie hudson's cameo was worth watching the ep. GHOSTBUSTERS.
