I've probably met you if you have ever partied across the street. Last house on the right.
im hearing pg plaza is the spot!
The house where police believe a University of Maryland College Park student shot his roommates -- one fatally -- before killing himself.
Holy fuck I lived in that house for 2 years. It has 5 bedrooms.
Law enforcement authorities said the student used a handgun in the shootings but was also armed with an Uzi submachine gun, a machete and a baseball bat, which he was carrying in a backpack or shoulder pack. The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity in order to candidly discuss the ongoing probe, said detectives believe the gunman could have inflicted far more serious damage with the more high-powered weapon, if he had chosen to do so.
Authorities said the gunman was a full-time graduate student who had done undergraduate work at Morgan State University.

That's surprising, and I say that in complete seriousness. Totally expected this to be a white person.
The roommate who was killed:
Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. People use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, post links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet.
This is so sad.
PGPD released some more details here: http://pgpolice.blogspot.com/2013/02/pgpd-identifies-victim-shooter-in.html Ugh, this is awful.
Ugh, these shootings are terrible. I lived on 38th ave two years ago and my neighbor was shot/killed during winter break.
It's all so effing pointless. The shooter was 23, and seemed to be doing fairly well for himself in school. How bad could your roommates have pissed you off to possess you to do something like this. (I'm working under the assumption that he just wanted to kill his roommates and not make national news since he seemed to have the means to do so if he wanted.)
Dont have fb. Couldn't see the picture, but this stuff is so senseless.
Wow. This is NOT roomy!
@thedbk Police say shooter purchased 9 mm handgun legally in 2012, when he was suffering from mental illness
"I like fixing broken things" - Kevin Plank
Stephen Rane (not sure which he is in the pic)
Thanks. Damn. This pisses me off.
Wow. That is just sad. Something has to be done about people with mental illness getting guns.
According to the Sun, there are two other people who live there but neither was home last night. I can't imagine what those two guys must be feeling right now.
Another 38th Ave alum checking in. Does anyone remember that huge drug bust like 5-6 years ago, and are the prostitutes still there at that one house next to the Jehovah's Witness hall?

People need to get off the "Oh sure, but focus on underage drinking!" wagon. Nothing the cops were doing in CP could have stopped this from happening.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
Yea, if you want to say that in reference to the robberies that have occurred recently, fine. But this is an episode that can only be prevented by gun control and putting more resources into mental health services.
Unless students are peacefully celebrating in the streets, PG County cops are worthless.
Probably a mixture of relief and the urge to get a 1BR apartment.
While I agree with the second part, UMD riots generally aren't peaceful.

...once the cops arrive.
I've been to a couple of the "riots". I've been pepper sprayed. They were always perfectly fine until the riot squad moved in.
