It is a good first date.
If you're actually good, you definitely have to bounce a few into the gutter or on your foot to keep it fun.
I don't think there's any way to be embarrassingly bad at 10 pins unless you try to be.
Where were you all back in the day
When I could use your sound advice?
I was without direction then.
Some help from you would have been nice.
A first date always was the same.
I placed my hand on something warm.
She'd smile, we'd kiss, she'd moan a bit
And a relationship would form.
We'd spend the evening having sex.
I never thought to bowl or skate.
This was the only way I knew
If she was worth a second date.

Wherever you go, order the milk steak with a side of raw jelly beans.

I just embarrassed myself with this post
Dave and busters
I wouldn't have thought so either, but a 37 doesn't lie.
for real though, I'm a step ahead of jgdomino, and am thinking of asking this girl out for a second date this weekend. We did the going out for drinks thing for the first date. I want to something kind of "different." Ideally, I'd want to go walk around the mall and see the monuments, or on a boat ride in Georgetown or something, but that's probably not the best idea for this time of year. Any thoughts?
I once took a first date to see the movie 'Kids' in the theater.
She's now a writer/editor for the ABC show Revenge.
I was kind of an idiot then...
Most of my first dates involve(d) just going to a bar and chilling over a few drinks. Activities are cool and all, but if I'm serious about trying to get to know someone, I'd like to be able to know I could talk to them one on one for a period of time. Throw in a game of air hockey or darts (good for judging body language/chemistry) and you can have a good time for a couple hours for pretty short money, unless you guys get sloppy, in which case you can have a pretty good time for a couple hours and then have sex for a couple minutes.
If you or she isn't into the bar scene, DC is great because there's a ton of pretty low coast options that you can use to judge what kind of chick you're dealing with. Walk around the museums or monuments to see if she's actually interesting, go hiking in Rock Creek or Great Falls, a friend of mine just took a first date to a gun range on a Groupon,
My best first dates were when I was in college and had no money, so had to get creative. That always went over much better than a nice dinner at Fridays and a movie in Greenbelt, which was most guys go to move.
Oof that sucks
I've heard anything involving orange slices will get the job done.
I just did the art museum for a 2nd date. Sometimes I feel like Dave Chappelle in Half Baked on these things, so I appreciate the fact that the museums are free.
Also, when I was in school, I probably had about 6 first dates at the zoo for the same reason.
dc improv. did one there last week. john heffron is here this wknd and he is very funny. get her laughing, tons of bars for before/after the show all around it and it is not expensive at the improv club. definitely a little different.
You should take turns defining words.
i'd recommend improv if either you or her don't have terrible laughs.
Real answer...bowling is OK if youre in middle america type places but meh. Do not go to improv unless you already know what the girl's sense of humor is. You don't want to take her somewhere that she doesn't find funny or worse gets offended at. Women are dumb.
True story, I took a girl bowling during winter break of my freshman year. Everything was going swimmingly until the 9th or so frame when I saw that I was losing by a couple pins. My next turn, I rolled this terrible thing that was heading to the gutters, so I stuck my foot out and kicked out the rail. Ball hits the rail and I get a "strike". I was laughing and thought it was awesome, but the girl couldn't believe I was that competitive that I would cheat to win at a stupid game of bowling. I guess she saw all she needed to see because we didn't end up going out again.
If you're so smart, why aren't you rich?
Comedy is a good idea, but improv can be expensive.
Better off going to the open mic at the lobby room of the Drafthouse. Free and the comics are good (some are pros)
What do you guys think of H street country club? I've never been, and have actually been wanting to go for a while.
that place is very cool and would be good. lots of games, they have the mini golf and skee ball, it would also be easy to go to one of the other bars on H street if you dont like it for some reason, fun atmosphere and affordable.
Hscc is a hipster nirvana
