at maryland from 2001-2005, most underage students were "from" new jersey. the hologram on their id's would be a pattern drew with gold metallic marker.
I stole my brothers draft card and used it in high school. I was 15 at the time and used it for a couple of years until the draft was discontinued. One time when I was 15, me and some friends drove to College Park and parked across the street from the Vous and went inside to purchase a keg for a party. I showed my draft card, purchased the keg and used a hand dolley to wheel it across Rt 1 to the car.
Some kid that lived on my floor freshmen year got caught making/selling ids...it was huge news and was on the front page of the diamondback and a bunch of other news outlets. He was facing like 16 counts and several decades in prison or something. All from a Gemstone student...
I have been racking my brain all day to remember where I got my first fake ID when I was a freshman at MD. The place was in Georgetown and it was like a Head shop with a back room with red velvet drapes. The ID was dogshit and only worked at The Cellar with 5 bucks under it. My gf says it was Commander Salamander. I am hesitant to agree. Anyone from the late 80's early 90's with a fake ID from this joint?
I applied for a position in the business office for Commander Salamander in the eary 80's and they made me take an accounting test.
Friend of mine's daughter got busted (UNC) about 3 months ago walking out of a liquor store. Cop asked her and she confessed (would have gotten in a lot more trouble if she lied.) She was supposed to study abroad and that was killed by the school. If you get busted in a bar, doubtful bouncer will report her to the school. If she gets busted coming out of a liquor store (by a cop) some schools (Virginia Tech) have zero tolerance policy and you will be history. Tell her not to use it where a cop might bust her.
I got a sweet California fake ID freshman year at MD, the kid who was making them was a friend of a friend at Georgetown. It worked flawlessly in CP/DC/Baltimore for about a year. However, a bouncer at O'Brien's in Annapolis started grilling me and threatened to check it out with a cop across the street, he just pocketed it. I just smartened up and used an old license from my brother from then on.
i went to an MVA express when i turned 21 to get renewed but their comps were down so they typed the IDs. that weekend i went to 3rd Edition in Georgetown with a bunch of friends and got turned away. guy said they dont type licenses. he told me to find a cop to vouch for me. so i found a nice cop..he radioed it in and walked back to the bar and told the guy to let me in.
i promised the cop id write his boss telling him he was helpful..i forgot/lost his name.
I always had a fake id growing up, but one time in high school a couple buddies and i went to a skins game during a strike when the replacement players, aka scabs, were playing. At some point we decided we should order beers but no one had id on them so the plan was to make it look like we were old enough. The key to our plan was to get the beer vendors attention and once he looks, you do the half-stand-reach-for-your-wallet-with-one-hand-while-ordering-3-wth-your-other. It worked. It was great. Beautiful day.
I have a little over a month until I'm 21. I'm on id number 3. The first was a pretty good one that got taken early sophomore year by some douche at #1 liquors when I tried buying $100 worth of captain. The second was a piece of crap PA one that I ordered online. No hologram or anything. Couldn't even get into Bentleys. Now I have a legit perfect looking Illinois one. Never failed. I've been buying at home from a corner store in the bad part of town owned by Indians since my freshman year. They carded me maybe five times ever. The barns always good in CP
One wonderful Friday night in February of 2010 I got a call from my daughter. I said hello and she said "Here, talk to him". Officer Jimmy Somethingorother of the Register, GA police department. Seems she was in a car that was doing 60 in a 40 in a typical speed trap Georgia town which happens to be on the only road to and from the nearest liquor store to Georgia Southern. (Their county is beer & wine off sale only). The dumbass driver who is from another shithole GA town immediately blurted out "She has a fake ID!" which- according to Jimmy- is a felony misdemeanor. To avoid real trouble she had to do an alcohol awareness class and the town of Register and its biweekly kangaroo court fined her and about twenty other GSU students $480 each, thus securing its solvency for another pay period. The driver got an additional $90 for speeding, its not the profit center college students are.
Mine worked at #1 Liquors for a while until some young douche took it away from me.
It surprisingly worked at a lot of places. It listed me as 25 (I was 19) and the photo looked nothing like me.
This is correct. If you get caught, don't fight it, just walk away. No one will get bothered.
Haha, that's my girl.
Ha, I just remembered this one. I had one my freshman year at ECU. Got denied at a bar and he was going to confiscate it. I grabbed it and took off and unbelievably two bouncers caught me in alley and beat the shit out of me. Ahhhh good times.
false. i was caught by an undercover officer. had to do community service which really isn't a big deal but it's enough to ruin a weekend
I used my fake more at liquor stores than bars freshmen year since only a few of us on the floor had fakes. Had more fun partying with my friends in the dorms.
That being said, knowing what I know now, I wouldn't use a fake at a liquor store unless you know they don't care. Even then, you have to be careful because you can get nabbed outside. I only had a few issues in CP, and each time it didn't work the clerk was cool about it, but my sister got cited in Montgomery County buying beer over winter break of her sophomore year. Had to expect that.
Most bars, especially in a college town, aren't going to care enough to do anything other than turn you away. I never took anyone's ID as a bouncer, just told them to come back in a few years. The easiest thing to spot on a fake is the hologram IMO, but you also get to know what each state looks like and the little tricks on each one if you see enough of them.
I'd be curious to see RedAndWhite's "perfect" Illinois ID, as I know some things about Illinois IDs you won't even see in ID books. It's amazing to see the changes in fake ID technology progress - the ones I saw/used in college were decent but nothing special. Now, I've seen ones that scan and everything, but show up as different info than on the front of the ID (you take the back off a legit ID and make a new front, basically). The best I ever saw wasn't a fake per se - a friend knew somebody who worked at the DMV and was quitting, so he made a few legit IDs on his way out. Of course her card said she was 24 when she was 19 and looked 15.
Holy Cow! My daughter is at Virginia Tech. The id she is got yesterday was given to her, but she has already paid another girl in her house for her ID, and it's been 4 weeks now and the ID should have come within 2 weeks when the girl put in for a replacement license. The girl sounds like a flake and has been offering that id to other sorority sisters who in turn pass it along when they turn 21.
My daughter seems to know what bars she can use it at, and which ones she can't.
Her big need for an ID is hanging with her cousins and their friends. One is getting married next spring and it will be quite an event, there will be parties in NYC, Philly and St Johns USVI. We spend Xmas with the family in Philly and she really wants to be able to go to the bars up there with her 3 cousins and their friends. They've all done the fake id thing before they were legal, so hopefully they will make sure she doesn't get busted with any of those ids?
I had my 1st fake id when I was 15. I would put on a 3 piece suit and would go to Hill Top Tavern on 450 by Crofton. back then that was a counrty dive bar and Crofton was not very big. All the Crofton kids heard about that and I was always being asked to get them beer and wine. After 2 years of going there, the owners told me no more for some reason.
So from that point I would go up 301 to a black bar, Rudy's Tavern and hustle beer and wine. Those guys there were pretty cool, they never ripped me off too bad. Only hairy moment I ever had was when I had 3 girls waiting in my car and some brothers got a little frisky with them, sorta like "mind if we dance wiff yer dates"
AFAIK, the drinking age in the USVI is still 18.
Why would anyone ever go to #1 with a fake? I feel like that was one of the first three things I learned at College Park.
There is never ANY reason to ever cooperate with police. This is the worst propagated myth ever.
Btw, I still have my fake ID. It was epically awesome.

Also, I generally used my fake at places like TGIF and other restaurant bars like that. The first time I used it, I overtipped the bartender and got to know his name. He never even asked me for it again when I went in. I even drank at the bar with cops at the bar at times. I heard them question him once, but he vouched for me and that was good enough.
I didn't realize that, thx...last time we were in St Johns her 3 cousins weren't there so she wasn't looking to go to the bars.
