"The CIA asked the main U.S. counterterrorism agency to add the name of one of the suspected Boston Marathon bombers to a watch list more than a year before the attack, according to U.S. officials."
Wow. This is NOT roomy!
Story keeps changing.
How did he shoot himself.
Officials: Boston suspect had no firearm when barrage of bullets hit hiding place
Tsarnaev, who police feared was heavily armed, came under a barrage of gunfire while hiding in boat.
For such a time as this.
Obviously he didn't. Who cares? It's irrelevant.
What is not irrelevant.
Is we were warned multiple time by Ruskies.
Saudi character is really strange.
i'm a little confused. so his name was definitely in the TIDE database right? I think i'm more bothered by the inability to ID this guy immediately than the inability to thwart the attack.
The bombs go off and it seems to me that first order of business should be to break down every single name in your database in the boston area. Maybe i'm overly critical but i feel like if this guy is in the system, he should be IDed within hours. At least he should be sorted into a group of people worth checking in on. The fact that they took a couple days and then said "LOL I dunno, hey public help us ID these guys" is.....not reassuring.
BEHOLD: She is the same actor that "was already dead" in Sandy Hook FFA !!
Actor hold detonator in his hand running away before the explosion?

What step are you in ??
Wait, no high fives and 'THAT'S GONNA LEAVE A MARK's on The Daily Show's evisceration of FNC and its post-Marathon coverage tonight?
These kooks have time that is for sure...
How many people are on a terror watch list in the New England area.
The authorities should have been checking on the older brother's whereabouts within a matter of hours post blast...this is nuts!
You are funny. So was the segment.
May cover of Boston Magazine.
Apparently the Russian mother of the suspect believes it was all fake, and the blood is actually paint. Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the crazy tree.
If you buy into that, you are retarded.
I don't know what you mean, but it had the cadence of a joke.
a few places have reported they had ID'd the older one...and part of the reason for releasing the photos to the public was to stop the media from putting more wrong people on covers of newspapers etc.
Thanks to the "Public Safety Exception" to Miranda (which was created in 1980), the government is not forced to choose between treating a suspect as an enemy combatant or immediately allowing said suspect to hide behind an attorney and the right to remain silent. In extraordinary circumstances, when a suspect is believed to be part of a broader conspiracy that might result in the loss of innocent life, authorities have 48 hours to question the suspect before mirandizing him.
Dzokhar Tsarnaev, the man suspected of being a co-conspirator in the Boston Marathon bombings, was mirandized after only 16 hours of questioning. According to a Fox News, FBI officials were "stunned" when federal District Court Judge Marianne Bowler arrived at the hospital and read Tsnarnaev his rights. Sources told Fox News that this premature action might have hurt the investigation.

The same older brother whom officials were warned multiple times about who was "lost" when he went to Russia?
This is the perfect post. We are spending billions on Homeland Security and it took days to find these guys when they had the older brother in the system. Will all of their efforts to find who did this it was right under their nose. Someone should be fired for this but the inevitable outcome will be to give them more money because apparently its not enough.
maybe we should have arrested him for "pre-crime" and thoughts.
It seems that no one is claiming the body of the older brother. It's odd the wife or any other relative will claim it since Muslims like to bury their dead pretty quickly. Now the father is coming to claim it.
Edit to post the link.
MAKHACHKALA, Russia (Reuters) - The father of two men suspected of carrying out the Boston bombings said on Thursday he would travel from Russia to the United States to bury his elder son.Anzor Tsarnaev

the mosque he went to won't hold his funeral either, might have to take the OBL way here and have dad toss him overboard.
The counter to this is how many people have homeland security thwarted in the previous months/years? Even after this attack they are being productive and saving lives. No matter how good the department is, it's impossible to stop 100% of events like this.
And you could argue that finding these days in a matter of days is pretty damn good. Outside of catching the person in the act (McVeigh) this might have been the quickest apprehension ever for a bombing like this.
these guys weren't planning a 9/11 either.....they went to bed, bath, and beyond for a pressure cooker and went to a fireworks store to get fireworks which they emptied out for the black powder. People are freaking about how background checks for guns, do we want to have a national registry for things bought at bed, bath, and beyond? There is no evidence that they did anything before the day of the bombing, what are they supposed to do?
You dont think all this info could have been used to deport him?
They had enough to deport the older brother before the act.
you realize if we deported every person of Chechnyan decent that russia told us about, we would be sending them all back.....many of whom would be jailed or killed upon return. this has nothing to do with immigration, they grew up here. there are US citizens planning stupid crap like this as well, and some doing horrific stuff. Immigrant or citizen you are going to have bad people who want to do bad things. You do your best to stop it, but you don't change what you are as a country.
Some guy entered a house outside Chicago and killed 5 people two days ago, there was a big shooting in Richmond, CA as well. If these two just opened fire at the finish line, chances are we would have more than 3 dead. Lets just call it what it was, two evil assholes who thank god could not figure out how to create more damage/death.
