May the suque provide you some entertainment during your recovery. Anyone have any material for an epic thread?
jesus - what the hell is going on around here?
you weren't in that poker game at Pooh's were you?
Good luck, man. Praying for "just" an infection.
i cant imagine how nervous you must be and how you must be playing out so many different scenarios in your head. hopefully you can keep yourself distracted until surgery.
i wish you the absolute best of luck and a swift recovery.
The MD Boards thru the years have always provided entertainment. Probably why my wife is always asking me why I'm on the computer so much.
Actually I'm not nervous at all. Now, I am a glass half empty kinda guy so yeah, many different scenarios played out the last 3 weeks so it's not been easy. I appreciate the best wishes from everyone but I've already been told by the doc that there is no such thing as a swift recovery from a thoracotomy.
Good luck man.
Good luck tomorrow.
Praying for you.
Out of surgery and got home yesterday. The spots they cut out are histoplasmosis, a fungal infection and not cancerous so very happy about that. I have an 8 inch incision from my shoulder blade to ribcage with who knows how many stitches . I thought I could take pain fairly well but this is ridiculous especially with the coughing that makes you feel like passing out. BTW if you ever have chest surgery don't re-watch episodes of the Chappelle Show, i tried to keep from laughing and hurt so bad that I had to take an extra pain pill. Anyway have a fairly long process (6-8 weeks) before I can go back to work so gonna catch up on some netflix in the meantime.
In the meantime I appreciate all the love from the board. Will now continue on being a lurker and sometime contributor......
Glad to hear you don't have cancer. I wish you a speedy post surgery recovery.
Wow. This is NOT roomy!

great news. and chicks dig scars.
Phatboy if you had any balls I'd meet you at the AFA Boxing gym and have Coach Weichers put some gloves on us.

Great news! From my brief reading that's a pretty rare thing to get unless you are a bat farmer or spelunker or have AIDS. So which is it?
Awesome news thanks for the update
Great news. Now you have a scar you can make up all kinds of stories about. I'd go with shark attack.
Awesome!! Makes my day a lot better.
Did they crack your sternum? My BIL survived an aortic anyuerism and he couldn't sit in the front seat of the car for year due to the airbag.
Good to hear everything's fine. I had a sample of a mole taken recently and it absolutely sucks to wait for the results, but it's great when you get the results you're looking for.
Enjoy your time off with drugs.
Great job Don! I hope you have a speedy recovery. Now hit the street and do some walking.
