I'll ask again, have you been to Little Italy recently?
Little Italy is two blocks these days and the majority of people who visit there are not NYC residents.
The ban is aimed squarely on the african american population who make up most of the fat NYC residents.
When Rev Al and Jesse slam Bloomie for proposing this I'll believe you. Saying any slice of the population makes up "most" of the fat population is dangerous. This does cover SI, Queens, and Brooklyn, correct?
Wasn't Rudy's kid some Augustus Gloop wannabe?
Bloomberg is one KFC 12 piece extra crispy ban away from LA style riots.
Interesting. Obesity is incredibly prevalent among the lower class and lower class whites for the most part don't live in NYC (or DC, for that matter).
I see more fat white people than black people in NYC, but I work in Midtown so it's clear most of the fatties are tourists.
bloomberg gets it - its a public health issue that has disastrous economic implications in the future. too bad for their right to drink 32oz sugary drinks. if people didnt abuse it in the first place we wouldnt be here now
Wat? You mean that sugar consuming fatties have pushed us over some sort of precipice with Big Gulps?
Here's hoping that we get this kind of concern over SS and Medicaid/Medicare expenditures, which are a far bigger problem. Real soon.

caloric intake and gaining/losing weight isn't the only health measure.
Sugary drinks lead to high blood pressure and not good for folks with diabetes, again both issue that are prevalent with african americans.
I'd be happy if they banned soda everywhere.
It wont make you lose weight but you will be a complete moron for ordering a milkshake just to show the city whose boss.
If Mitch does decide to go you could be looking at 10 wins or less next year - MdBbReporter
so lets just limit it to grape and orange soda.
Is the 2nd sentence personal speculation or do you know that for certain? Is there something we can do about the females who take an hour to order at subway, walk slower than everyone else on sidewalks etc?
New low reached in G$'s attention whoring troll.
Laws based on the notion that black people can't constrain their urges have a good track record in America
Wow just wow. Are there people out there that thinklike you or are you just baiting?
You don't see the correlation between Medicare expenditures and the obesity problem is this country?
I dont have a problem with it. If you want 32 oz go to 7-11 or a market, there are places you can do it.
Again I will ask where does it end? No more large fries? No more large pizzas? No more double cheeseburgers? Where is the line drawn?
I understand and agree. I just dont care because it doesnt impact me in any way
Worst kind of person. It will impact you eventually then you will have your panties in a bunch.
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
When they came for the reds....
weren't people saying the same thing when he banned/phased out trans fat in restaurants?
and now you've got other cities and states implementing the very same measures
