So here is the deal: there is a woman in Southern Maryland with a similar (although not the same) name as my wife. This woman apparently has no fixed address. Apparently, she owes child support. MD Child Support Services couldn't find her, so they literally picked the next person with a similar name, my wife, and demanded that she pay child support. When she told them to fuck off, they contacted her employer and tried to get a lien put on her paycheck. She had to provide documents proving she wasn't the person they were looking for, and CSS went away. Now they are back and trying the same bullshit. The woman doesn't even have the same name, a two-second search on the internet pulls up the correct information (and no, it is not Annette). When my wife asked how her name got mixed up in all of this, the CSS person told her they literally just chose her name because it was the closest match. How is this fucking legal?
So my question to the lawyers of the suque is: what recourse do we have? I don't just want to make them stop, I want to make them pay. This is a totally unacceptable abuse of power by a lazy bureaucrat and they need to get their ass sequestered out to the fucking curb. In the meantime, my wife is freaking out, worried they may get a lien or ruin her credit, based on absolutely nothing. It is like identity theft by the effing government, because they have her SS number and work information based on her tax reports.

I have no idea (other than maybe contacting the local media or politician) but that's ridiculous and I hope you are able to figure out how to stop/punish them.
My wife is a family law attorney, I'm sending this to her.
It may be a pain, but have you tried walking into their brick and mortar place asking to see a management person and let them know whatsup? If they still don't cooperate then the L-word can come out. Those vile creatures should never see the light of day unless absolutely necessary.
Try the Office of Inspector General
Awesome. Otto is good people.
Thanks, Paul! I really appreciate it.
Do you want a kid? Could you get this one?
what the fuck?
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
The only advice I'd give is to record and keep track of everything. Every govt. employee you talk to...dates/times...and what they said.
Absolutely terrible. Unless your wife didn't tell you something about her past.
I have two already, thanks :p
Social Security number should clear this up pretty quick.
Could also try self-help. Why don't you register for a handgun and cc your tormenter on the paper work? Or send her receipts for several fertilizer purchases at home improvement stores?
True, although I've known her practically since high-school, it would have been a pretty neat trick. Now if it were me they were after, I might have some explaining to do...
thiss is quality. none of that private message bs when relaying what wife said.
They know the socials are different. CSS got my wife's SS number from her tax returns when they decided to pursue her for child support. The names aren't even the same!
Your scam of impregnating women all over the country with the same name is coming unraveled.
Not if she's an "illegal."
classlessthug: I have too much on my plate to worry about the fact that my junk intimidates some needle D undergrad.
Which would mean that either they weren't properly married... or Otto is also a Mexican.
My friend applied for a apartment in downtown Pittsburgh. In applying, they required a background check. He applied, thinking it was just a formality. A few weeks later, he gets a call from the housing board telling him that he needs to call them back immediately. Apparently, while running his background check, it came up that he was a Sex Offender. My friend had no clue what the fuck was going on. He called up the state, and it turns out they put the "Sex Offender" label on the wrong guy with the same name. There is no indication how long the "Sex Offender" label was attached to his name in the system, and who else got the same ping back from the state.
"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
I had a similar situation like this when the MVA merged my driving record (clean record) with someone else (dreadful record) with my same name and birthdate. My driver's license was revoked. I tried many things (met with MVA management, provided documentation and insurance info, etc) and still could not get it resolved.
I called my State Senator and he "got through all the MVA red tape" and resolved my issue within hours.
This is my recommendation - call your State Senator. They work for you... utilize them for good for a change.
That's just insane then.
CSS sucks, my wife and I know from personal experience. We don't have any children together but she has a son her first marriage and her ex is like 10k behind on his support.
Does her ex have a common name? CSS should be able to find somebody to pay up :p
Obama's America imo
and I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for those meddling kids!
