God bless America ...
lines down here are insane (according to facebook), exactly why I went yesterday. I didn't even have to wait a minute. It was awesome.
TerpPride and Kunal are impressed with how thoroughly derailed this thread has gotten.
Just came back from Chick Fila Montgomery Mall, and I counted the line it was 75 and getting bigger at 12:30. Stood in line for 20 minutes but left since wasn't close to getting served. It was a great crowd
Traffic has been stopped in both directions because of cars coming from a CFA here in NC. It's insane.
Read my writings to nobody in general:
Yeah I've seen pics from a bunch on FB and some of them are 40-50+ cars deep and people wise I wouldn't be surprised if easily over 100 in plenty of them. How long till every company starts coming out with controversial stances to make some good $$
Just got back from a mall down here in South Florida and had no idea about CFA Appreciation Day. The line almost wrapped around the food court; probably 75-100 people easy and the distance didn't shorten the entire time I was there. Also everyone was wearing name tags on their shirts saying "I support CFA".
Heard Wendys has signs up today telling folks if they want chicken, go to CHick Fil A, if true that's solidarity
I'm late to this thread but did go back and read some of the comments posted when the bruhaha erupted (around page 6/7?). Someone stated that Cathy injected his $.02 and it was anti-gay marriage. I just read the complete interview in the Babtist Press and no-where does Cathy say anything at all about gay marriages. In fact reading the interview I was struck with the fact that there was nothing there that is anti gay in any way. There is nothing NEGATIVE in the interview, it's all focused on the positive things that drive the owners of the company.
This is the part that people are up in arms about:
Some have opposed the company's support of the traditional family. "Well, guilty as charged," said Cathy when asked about the company's position.
"We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.
You can either bury your head in the sand and pretend that he didn't mean anything about gay marriage, or you can be intellectually honest with yourself. It's up to you.
I got that and understand that one could take that as an attack on the non traditional family unit. However reading the entire interview and from the tone of it all, that line doesn't stand out as negative against gay marriage. But I guess if one wnats to focus soley on that sentence then you could certainly construe it as such.
Actually enjoyed the Jefferson exchange...
At 1:30 in Frederick, line at least 20 people out the door.
it was the combo of his comments and people calling out the money he's given to orgs who fight gay marriage
Two bible-thumpers in my office where 'amening' that the local CFA was booming during lunch.
classlessthug: I have too much on my plate to worry about the fact that my junk intimidates some needle D undergrad.
major corporations coming together to support anti-gay bigotry should bring a warm feeling to all our hearts
i think u got played..or some nut put up a sign outside of a wendys
I don't think the outrage is about the owner's comments, I think it's about the money given to some pretty crappy groups. The owner's comments just reminded people again of the bigotry they help fund.
If the owner had made those comments but didn't give money to anti-gay groups, I don't think there would be much of an issue.
Wendys has taken heat because they are pro adoption and therefore are anti-abortion.
LOL. Ted Cruz just won the run-off in Texas and will likely be the next US Senator from Texas. How did he further bolster his conservative credentials today? His ELECTION PARTY food was provided by ... wait for it ... yup, CHICK-FIL-A!
Has there been any government action beyond Gray and the other mayors "threats" to not allow Chick Fil A in their cities?
Of course not.
Damn, I need to hurry up and open a rib shack called, "Active members of the military are fucking pussies" or something. Really start raking in the dough!
