Please no lag comp! Won't be buying right away, but I love zombies so even if the multiplayer sucks, there will at least be some value left in the game. MW3 sucks the biggest dong in history, love battlefield 3 (i have become somewhat beastly in jets), hope this game returns COD back to my good graces.

i actually really liked this game and still play it over CODMW3 and sometimes prefer picking up the sticks to play this title rather than BF3 (but I love me some BF3). the zombs maps are always great and while the multiplayer wasn't smooth, the added map packs were frickin sick, i thought.
i thought the story was so-so, and i know this will sound petty, but i thought sam worthington was really good as mason in that game.
Multiplayer is gonna be rape like every other COD before it (including MW3). And BF3 sucks ass (jets, lol... that's noob shit).
Anyways, I think MW3 required completely changing how you play COD multiplayer, compared with BO, MW2, MW, etc. Once you figured it out, it was tolerable. I'll be hoping this plays more like BO than MW3. BO was my favorite COD for multiplayer since COD4.
Lag comp is a retarded concept, so I'll be in total shock if it's still there in BO2, but you should just downgrade to shittier internet anyways, BA. Just to be safe.
I prefer to have fun playing games over tolerating them. I am far from the only person who thinks the game is complete shit. COD is very, very close to going Guitar Hero. Over-saturation, no innovation. If this game sucks, there are gonna be problems. I have more faith that Treyarch will put out a better product, they at least know how to make decent maps. Give me that MW2 hit detection with BO style maps. We will see.
I've never played any of the COD games, but I'm interested in picking up the newest one. How long does it take to get to the point where you're not getting destroyed by 11 year old kids every 10 seconds? The only first-person shooter I've played online is Goldeneye, and after you level up and have access to better weapons, you're okay. From what I've heard throughout the years, COD is basically a bunch of kids camping out and exposing glitches the whole time.
MW2 was easily the worst multiplayer ever
God that looks awful.
No. This is jtp's doing. He's kept me around for his bizarre HOF resume.
Just go grab a previous version used for cheap and play for a month until the new one comes out. Will probably be close to the same but will fix some of the glitches previous game had.
I liked it a lot better than MW3
+1. I cut the COD strings a year or two ago and have been happy ever since. It did help to have Skyrim, though............
I don't even have to see the trailer. Will buy, play addictively and become a beast for about 3-4 months then stop playing sometime around April and will never play it again.
Looking forward to some new zombie stuff.
COD hasn't evolved since COD4. COD4 was a tremendous game, but it's been rereleased with a new campaign 4 times now. Not worth it.
This. COD is a steaming turd of rehashed gameplay every year, yet the lemmings still scoop it up each time. BF3 is a much deeper and better overall package.
Speaking of noob shit ^^

Awful CoD player says things
lol. You're the same person who declared that I, and every other person who had stopped buying CoD because they put a new coat of paint on the same old thing, weren't possibly "hard core players" simply because we weren't continuing to give them money for putting out crap.
You're a fan boy. We get it. It's possible to have a negative opinion about CoD and not automatically sucking at the game.
Good to know you totally missed the point I was trying to make in that thread.
And fanboy means nothing to me, I buy the game every year because it's fun and competitive, which are the same reasons everyone else continues to buy it. If that makes me a fanboy, then so be it.
If I missed your point, so did everyone else. I explained that I considered myself a hard core player. I had purchased and put many hours into all the CoD releases from CoD4 to BO. I was getting progressively more disappointed toward the end of that stretch, so I stopped buying them last year with MW3. You declared that I couldn't possibly be a hard core player, despite you not knowing me from Adam.
You're insanely defensive in CoD threads. It's really pretty bizarre. It seems strange to me that you can't acknowledge that the franchise is slipping a bit. My opinion is hardly the minority in this thread.
Insanely defensive... lol. I haven't said anything defensive in this entire thread other than "BF3 sucks ass," which was me jesting with BA because he hates MW3 so much (I don't play BF3, so I don't know the first thing about it). In fact, I criticized CoD in my only post before Lefty made a dumbass comment I don't even understand. If you go read through the MW2/BO/MW3 threads you'll find most of my posts are railing against bullshit things in CoD.
Like I said in the last version of the thread congrats on sharing an opinion with several people in this thread, despite none of you being the target audience for CoD. You don't like CoD? Great. I don't give a fuck. I didn't say shit to you in this thread. Leave me alone.
Let me summarize this thread for you so far: I make one benign, sarcastic remark to BA... Lefty makes a negative remark I don't understand... I call him bad... you get butthurt about god knows what... and here we are.
My whole point in the last thread was that if I'm not their target market (along with several other people in this thread), then who is? I'm a young, video-game playing guy. I had bought all their games for a while because I enjoyed playing them. Like other people, I feel the quality has slipped, so I stopped buying the games, so I'm simply curious how they're going to replace the segment of the market that they're losing. My annoyance with you in the last thread was you claiming to know anything about me simply because I chose not to buy the latest version of the game.
I'm obviously not trying to start an e-beef or anything, so I apologize if I've come across as too aggressive.
Black Ops is the only COD I've really liked since MW, so I'll be giving this a shot too.
I don't want to have an in depth discussion about this right now (mainly because I'm not gonna be at my computer for the rest of the night).
The only thing I know about you is that you didn't buy MW3, so I know you're not the guy that always buys the next CoD game because you think it's fun. Most of the people that buy the game don't care that every CoD is just the previous with a fresh coat of paint. They get it because the core gameplay is fun and addictive.
As far as replacing the disgruntled portion of the fanbase, I'd wager that there's two whiny kids buying the game for every disgruntled, veteran player that swears off the game. I don't think CoD runs into trouble until a much better product comes along to steal away the majority of it's fanbase.
Edit to say, I get why people think it's just a rehash (because it is), but I still think it's an incredible product that's fun to play.

Other than BA, to those that have stopped buying every version...is it based on the online multiplayer or non online campaign type stuff?
Personally, if you couldn't hop online and have fun carrying on with some friends I'd of stopped buying it long ago. Carrying on and kicking ass with people online is fun plus they change up online multiplayer every game, killstreaks, guns, maps, etc. So even though the core of the game is the same game to game, the extras do change. Those changes can affect your strategy so things to do change somewhat.
The fun I have with the game and online far exceeds the frustration (if any) that comes along with the core game being painted over each time a version comes out.
Basically, it's really fun.
It was really fun in 2007 when it came out. It got old by about 2010. None of my friends buy it anymore either so I can't just jump online and have a grand old time.
The community sucks and I'm not paying activision $60/year for a 4 hour campaign and a map pack.
Pretty much agree with Naegele on everything said here...also about getting it and playing the shit out of it for a solid 4+ months. Nothing is better than getting a group of 6 guys who are good, calling in unlmited UAV's and Sandusky'ing online for 20 straight matches.
I think i'm friends with most of the guys on here on xbox live that play it, but drop me your gamertag if you're not. I've actually been wanting to play this recently online. Too much Skyrim, if possible... and can only play NCAA for so long until I want to throw the controller.
