If a fact is snarky, then...
.... the department's broader U6 unemployment rate, which includes part-time workers who would prefer full-time jobs and people who have given up looking, came in at 14.3 percent in February.
u/v for your factoid. Paul noticed no 'snarky comments' about the job report just released back a page (or two) as if it might have been positive and require the opposition to take pot shots at it.

I voted for Obama in 2008. I consider myself an independent.
Here's the pros of Obama's term:
-Shows up for work
-Winding down Afghanistan and Iraq, as would be expected
-Decided to renew efforts to go after Bin Laden. "Hey, we should uh, find that head terrorist guy. Yeah, do that."
-Has tried to stop the inexorable march towards destroying our environment
-He likes teh gays now. So I guess there's that.
- With a once in a generation chance to reform the financial sector and undo some of the harmful financial deregulation, his administration has completely failed on every level. I don't have the time or inclination to rewrite what other people have written about so eloquently these past few years, but the net result is a mockery of the rule of law/justice, and the continuing parasitism by the financial sector on the rest of the economy. His failure has thorough and complete.
-The never-ending war on terror continued under Obama. New fronts for the war have been discovered, rights continued to be eroded. This is the opposite of what he campaigned on.
- Beyond some short-term stimulation deals, hasn't addressed much of the long-term structural economic problems.
-Auto bailouts - on the surface a good thing. Not sure if it was necessary to do so though instead of bankruptcy restructuring. Also ignored the law when negotiating bailout deals.
-Obamacare - might end up working out, might end up finishing off our economy. Don't know enough.
At best he's been the biggest disappointment of a President of my young life (30), at worst his administration has been accomplices in letting fraud and criminality run wild. At best, he hasn't solved any of the problems facing us. At worst, he's exacerbated them.
Americans have less faith in our institutions than they did in 2008 (hell White America is arming themselves). I'd like to say he's had the worst administration I've ever seen, but that only goes back to the previous guy. A really low bar to clear.
I have an honest question for you: do you think Obama has been a better President than Bush?
Actually started under Bush and we ended up with a UAW bailout instead of GM bailout. You are correct, debtor in possession bankruptcy would have been much more effective, but the Union politics ruled the roost there. Ford did not take a dime of bailout money.
gurgle said these positives about Obama with my comments in parentheses.
-Shows up for work (he works less then most Presidents to hold the Office; even admitted in an interview he was "lazy")
-Winding down Afghanistan and Iraq, as would be expected (Yes, but did like an amateur announcing go dates, etc. If I was POTUS we would have not stayed in Afghanistan any longer then it would have taken to pull all our people out)
-Decided to renew efforts to go after Bin Laden. "Hey, we should uh, find that head terrorist guy. Yeah, do that." (The efforts to get Bin Laden started with Bush and NEVER stopped, and Obama's Administration bungled the paperwork of the doctor who confirmed Bin laden's whereabouts, and he and his wife were detained at the Paki border checkpoint there he was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced to years in prison)
-Has tried to stop the inexorable march towards destroying our environment (by siding with the most radical fringe groups in the environmental movement thus further damaging our economy)
-He likes teh gays now. So I guess there's that. (Obama always was fair with gays)
Bush's incompetence set the stage for Obama's incompetence. Both are examples of failed presidencies. Bush because he was a neocon puppet starting an unnecessary war, failing to curb spending, sitting on a financial bubble and doing nothing about it and being so terrible that an electorate surmised even a community organizer could do better. Well he didn't.
These are two examples of corrupt political machines proffering puppets to run for the Nation's top Office. One was as bad as the other, but in very different venues of their jobs.
I know you don't like him either, but do you think he was worse?
I voted for Bush 43 in 2000 I was sucked in. Today my opinion is he was a disgrace,
Don't see how any of Obama's supporters in 2008 could see it any differently.
For such a time as this.
LOL Peggy Noonan haz a sad.
An airport and an airport hotel make America
She's made a powerful enemy
So its Obama's fault that Pittsburgh is sad, not all the fat girls or Steelers fans?
Our airport is actually pretty legit, the problem is they raised fees and US Airways dropped it as a hub so it is depressingly empty now. They moved out in the early 2000s. So clearly, it's Obama's fault.
If pressed, starting an unnecessary war is the tie breaker. Bush was worse, but I have 8 years with him and only 4.5 with Obama, so Obama can drop to his level
The best part is that Peggy's biggest sign of American decline is the lack of a doorman and someone to carry her fucking bags.
U6 sucks, but so does U2.
that would be doorperson.
[sohl] Why do u hate women and bags? [man6]
I don't know.....is it better to get pancreatic CA (5% 10-year survival rate) or liver CA (6% survival rate)?
Are we sure that's Peggy or is it really Goterpss disguised as Peggy. I could definitely see him starting a thread when doormen get cut from NYC.
Yup. Bush actually slightly better on the economy IMO, because he tried to stave off the mortgage crisis and was stonewalled (heh), and he gets little credit for getting the funding authorizations in place so the next guy had something to work with day 1, but two wars off the budget and one of them completely unnecessary means the current President has some real work to do to topple Bush II.
Is CA really an accepted abbreviation for cancer these days?
Ironic, isn't it?
Peggy Noonan did not have the wit to spot what was obvious about Obama from the beginning - his progressive mindset. She's one of the useless Republicsn Old Guard that needs to stfu.
Lol perfect IMO
Unfortunately, due to the sequester, the DHS has to cut back on its order of armored tanks with gunports
The Department of Homeland Security has acquired an exciting new-ish toy, the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle. See a great video of a proud DHS
