So I'm going to Blacksalt soon, but was wondering if anyone has any recommendation as far as getting the tasting menu/just ordering a la carte? I don't like oysters very much, but the fiance does, so she can order those if she likes. Reviews are very good for either type of ordering, but I figured I'd check here too.
Define "soon"....they have restaurant week until the 10th at least
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
They don't do restaurant week dinner, unfortunately, so it doesn't matter anyway.
i know a chick that works there. (or worked there can't remember if she's still there)
it's good. they do restaurant week (lunch), but as spiffy said, no RW for dinner. depends on what you feel like eating. wide-ranging menu.
i actually really like black's in bethesda
I've done RW there. Good place. They do have a special limited RW menu, though, and their regular menu is fairly expensive, so if you do order off the regular menu expect to spend a lot.
Yeah bring lots of money.
I loved it when I took the GF a couple years ago.
Someone here said it was going downhill for whatever reason. I don't remember the details.
I think this is what people on Yelp are saying too. I went two years ago so my experience is a bit outdated.
Recent Yelp reviews are mostly 4-5 stars (with the normal exceptions), but thanks to everyone for the input. Looking forward to it quite a bit!
I think Toogs or someone poo poo'ed their lists, but Washingtonian had them in the top 100 local restaurants this year. I've always enjoyed it there.
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
Very pricey and close-quartered, I like Blacks in Bethesda more
They have an excellent lunch special where you can get three choices for $18, four choices for $23 (Mon-Fri)
Going to Et Viola next week for the first time, have heard great things about it.
The thing with the Washingtonian list is it's pay to play. Unless you are top of the top, if you don't advertise or otherwise play their games, you don't make the list. That's not to say the list isn't very good, it certainly is. But Sietsema's is better.
