Lots of titles out there, here are some (not all I agree with) ...
Back To The Future
Star Wars (x2)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Indiana Jones (4th doesn't count)
Lord of the Rings
Some of the best standalone movies have a dud in their trilogy, which knocks out Godfather, Indiana Jones, etc. But in terms of consistent greatness and pop culture significance, it's a top 3 of Star Wars IV-VI, Lord of the Rings, and Dark Knight. Honorable mention to Die Hard and Back to the Future. Very solid but not quite great.
probably will be crucified for this but maybe Toy Story. I love those movies
The Rock - ConAir - Face/Off
Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.
Terminator 3 should not be grouped with the other two. It was an ok action film, but I think of it as more of a spin-off than a sequel. The first two are great as a pair. I don't really think it should be considered a triology...just a great...uh...biology?
Real answer - Mad Max
Also, Silence of the Lambs - Hannibal - Red Dragon

without bitching about what is a trilogy and what isn't, it's either Star Wars or LOTR. Half of your list doesn't really qualify.
call me crazy, but i liked BFIII over BFII ... something about the second one, threw me off.
well i liked the part when needles scammed old man future marty and the fact they could bake a whole pizza hut pizza by opening a small packet containing a personal pan pie and it turns into a large in a matter of seconds.
and Die Hard III was much better than Die Hard 2. dulles airport blows by the way.
PIZZA HUT - serbian subtitle :]
If you look at this like a 3 on 3 hoops tournament, The Godfather is the MJ/Lebron/PeShon team.
The Dark Knights... and its really not even close.
The Jersey trilogy deserves a mention: Clerks/Mallrats/Chasing Amy
LOTR, not close.
the majority are trilogies. Star Wars is two parts, Batman has four, Indiana Jones has four (but who's counting the 4th).
was thinking of starting a thread with best series of movies of all-time, but that's where you can go from friday the 13th, revenge of the nerds and halloween all the way to Emmanuelle.
then maybe Godfather & Indiana Jones...
kid me: Karate Kid, Back To The Future, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars (original batch) or Mighty Ducks
adult me: LOTR, Godfather or Dark Knight
no. not all sets of 3 are really trilogies. It's not worth arguing. Terminator for example is not a trilogy.
didn't see the other mad max's, but i forgot to type in hannbial trilogy, i thought of it and completely forgot.
hannibal was on yesterday, the scene with ray liotta at dinner ... damn.
i was saying batman and indiana jones don't really count, even though some will consider them. i don't count the 4th indiana jones. hell i don't think the original batman is a trilogy but some people do for some reason.
There's also the Matrix, but I doubt anyone would consider it among the best just because #2 and #3 were barely watchable.
jurassic park..... /thread>
Alien or Predator trilogy
I agree with that. I don't think the earlier Batmans count or Indiana Jones. The Dark Knight does, though.
Except none of those are trilogies. I mean, even if you aren't counting the AvP and Prometheus and stuff, there are 4 Alien(s) movies.
What do you consider a 4th Batman?
The TDK trilogy is considered the THREE movies directed by Christopher Nolan:
The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight Rises
It's a full-fledged trilogy, sequential, tied together and referencing the others in the set.

What is the argument that Die Hard is a trilogy? That's like saying the Friday the 13th movies are a trilogy.
die hard is absolutely not a trilogy
