This thread reminds me of that terrible Italian restaurant in Stamp. What was the name of that place? This is circa 1993.
is that hippy deli/store still in the bottom of stamp?
I loved when Boars Head was in STAMP. Also, Danny's moved to right down the street from my work, maybe some Friday I can go in and attempt to order a Fat Bitch to see if it's the ACTUAL home of the critically acclaimed "World's Best Hamburgers"
Yes. MD Food Co-Op.
This isn't time for jokes. It's a time for mourning.

Damn, didn't know Jungle Grill closed. I would try to get their BBQ burger at least once a week. Used to get the gyro at Marathon Deli quite a bit, never thought it was that great. Rotated it about 1 for 1 with potbellys.
Can't believe people actually graduated from UMD and never went to marathon.
JDs roadhouse closing was heart breaking for me. Awesome homemade sides esp the mac n cheese and chips. Then the meat that they would start smoking at 4am. Then it turned into Curry express. My ignorant ass didn't know i like Indian food yet, so I would randomly walk by, open the door and yell profane (racial) things a couple times a week. Borderline hate crime IMO
I must have been the only person going to Terrapin Taco House when it moved near Marathon and was almost out of business.
I think that's where Krazi Kebab is now. It was Pita Plus before that I think. Krazi Kebab is legit.
WIll check out Krazi Kebab. 90% of the time I've eaten before or after a game in CP the last 2 years, it's been Looney's....need something new.
Just thinking of Marathons fries gets me excited
Get a spicy chicken naan wrap.
jesus Jungle Grille closed?
I'll still never get over WaWa closing. Going for a sizzlie after Dollar Buds Night and then stumbling up the street to my apartment was the best.
I don't know whether to upvote you or downvote you. It's clearly awesome that you're there, but not awesome that I am not.
UMberto's. Formerly known as What's Your Beef.
Off/(On?) topic but I'll be in the armory intramural office until 430. Stop by if your tour comes this way
i wonder if i would have the stomach to take down china buffet these days, or if only college students are capable of that
Every time I've had Shanghai since I graduated has been a mistake.
discovering marathon my sophomore year strongly enhanced the final 2.5 years I had in CP
edit to say i discovered it because of this board. Thanks guys!!

I probably ate 100 Gyro platters (w/ a Birch Beer) there........in 1977 alone. Not joking.
Can't wait for Dec 8th Saturday game and hitting Marathon before. Shwing.
Daggggg ill see you there

The awning outside legitimately read "World's Greatest Hamburgers". Nothing quite like a sunbeaten, dilapidated awning promoting hamburgers. Was that place 24 hours? I seem to recall some really late night Danny's shenanigans.

Adele's employees got free Boar's Head, Taco Bell or Chick-fil-A before/after their shifts, and I used to crush Boar's Head on a daily basis. So legit.
