I'm heading there this weekend for a friend's birthday party and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for great or unique food or restaurants that we would want to check out while in town? Any other suggestions for activities for a group of guys other than bar-hopping or skiing? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the reason why a few players got in trouble for the bowl game was a bar downtown that had a mechanical bull. So try and find that place.
I don't remember where or the name of either place, but had a couple breakfasts with incredible hash browns. I'm sure locals can help if you're in a hotel.

Thanks, I completely forgot about the 2008 Humanitarian Bowl. I remember thinking that Kapernick kid could be an NFL QB someday. Hopefully some other people on here went to that game and have some suggestions.
Try some Prairie or Rocky Mountain oysters.
I was thinking about trying them (and yes I know exactly what they are). I was trying to think of any other local foods or meals that I should try when in Boise.
Idaho has a significant Basque population (sheepherding) and there is good Basque food to be eaten.
Epis A Basque Restaurant, rated 5.0 of 5 on TripAdvisor and ranked #1 of 106 restaurants in Meridian.
Fridge callout thread. Moderate plz.
dozens, hundreds, perhaps thousands of people visit each year. So the answer to your question is a firm yes.
Drove through one time and picked up two pizzas from The Flying Pie.
They were good. Inside of the place looked cool as well.
My parents visited a few years ago and my Dad got super pissed off when the restaurant charged them $2 extra for the "Idaho" potato over the "standard" potato.
Drove through, and stayed at a very nice, yet cheap hotel.

was offered a job in Idaho Falls as a local TV news anchor about 30 years ago. Early 20s guy living the dream in DC and getting laid said no thanks.
A few years ago my wife and I flew into Boise when we took a vacation to Sun Valley (crazy nice). We rented a car at the airport and as I was pulling out of the lot I noticed a "Eat Bertha's Mussels" bumper sticker stuck on a post at the exit. Suffice to say, I hold Boise in pretty high esteem.
