So, I just got back from a vacation and we have a couple of other big expenditures right now (basement remodel, bathroom remodel, re-financing, possible family trip in May), but our in-laws have expressed a desire to take mini-me with them on their Disney vacation in July (because mini-me and our niece are the same age and basically BFFs so they will all have more fun if she has someone to play with).
So, we may have a kid-free week in July and I was looking to try to find somewhere we could go to get drunk and screw for a 4-5 days. Caribbean is nice but flight+resort+kennel adds up and pretty much everywhere within driving distance will be hot during July, so I was trying to find somewhere that might be within driving distance (~ 6 hours) so we could at least save a bit by not having to fly. We really like all-inclusives (i.e. food, alcohol), though. Like, where you go to the resort and you can spend the whole vacation without really leaving the resort-- pool, a club, a couple of restaurants.
I pulled up a couple of places in Virginia Beach, but I'm not sure if they're really what we're looking for. They might be, they just don't seem to have all-inclusive packages and I've never been to VA Beach.
DC Metro Area?
My buddy just went to Bedford Springs, PA I think? I don't know if it's all inclusive but they loved it.
There are very few, if any, Caribbean-style AI resorts in the US where all the booze is included. There are several places in the Poconos/Catskills with meals & activities, but not what you'd get in Jamaica, Cancun etc.
The big thing about AI resorts is you get to party in the safety of the resort without wandering out in to the sketchy surrounding areas.

I refuse to allow that to take further root. That is something retards say. Please don't be a retard.
Maybe this will help

9/21/2010...RIP Old IMS.
Thank you for proving my point.
Nemacolin Woodlands and the Greenbrier have room/spa/food packages, and they have plenty of activities beyond just golf. Both are good places to take a lady. Pricey maybe, but quality for the dollar IMHO.
First class all the way....
Enjoy all inclusive honeymoons or a Poconos weekend getaway. Nothing says a romantic honeymoon like a vacation in the Poconos Mountains.
Yeah, the whole point of trying to find somewhere local was to make the vacation cheaper, though, so some of these places that are $500+ per night are kind of defeating the goal. I'm sure they're really nice, but I could find somewhere in the Caribbean that would be cheaper even with the flight.
Virginia Beach sucks. Getting to Virginia Beach sucks. Don't go to Virginia Beach. It sucks.
No idea if this is AI or what but it's a resort in driving distance with a lot of stuff to do. Some friends of mine have gone there and enjoyed it.
Massanutten Resort: A Four Season Resort Located in the Beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia
Landsdowne in VA would meet your requirements. http://www.lansdowneresort.com/
I think you forgot to mention that Virginia Beach sucks.
Well, except that it doesn't have all inclusive and appears to be $600-800 per night.
You know how this ends. Domino's pizza and a Netflix movie you both fall asleep halfway into.
You can come stay in my basement. I have a hot tub and always have ungodly amounts of alcohol on hand.
Plus, I have a big fish tank down there that probably has a few of them still alive. By July, though? Hmmm.. chicks dig the fishes.
..fresh sheets on the futon, bro. $250 a night.. Think about it.
My grandparents had a timeshare there...very mellow, definitely more family oriented, grew up around a very small ski slope, also has an indoor waterpark, golf, hiking, tennis, the works...four-season resort.
Nemacolin and greenbrier
Well I should just read the op better, then.
Screw you, TerpDaddy!
sorry, toogs. DMV is here to stay.
nope, other than it's the place you renew your license.
it's ingrained in local pop culture
I, too, find the DMV moniker slightly obtuse.. but it definitely isn't going anywhere.
(While I agree with what I just wrote, I actually only commented because I saw an opportunity to use "obtuse" in a discussion.. which I feel is a word that deserves more burn)
