I'm sure its already been mentioned, but go to Marathon Deli and tell me a gyro isn't the winner.
My life was meaningless and without direction until the day I had my first value meal.

Pretty sure ham is the upper thigh of the pig. You can smoke it (which is what we normally consider ham) or not (what is known as a fresh ham.) So, unless the pork sandwich is mad from that part of the pig, it ain't ham.
this thread makes me want marathon so bad
What's so great about gyros is that you go to any greek place, whether it be a fancy mediterranean place, a hole in the wall, or a guy on the street with a mustache, the gyro is going to be great. It is difficult to find a bad gyro. I think the only bad gyros out there are made by Turks who are trying to do everything they can hurt the public image of Greece at every turn.
yeah but turkey has doner kebabs which are their own special brand of awesome.
Phatboy if you had any balls I'd meet you at the AFA Boxing gym and have Coach Weichers put some gloves on us.
Dammit! I can't vote. This would by gyro hands-down but then you posted a pic of a Dinic's pork sandwich. Ever since I've seen the place on Man vs. Food, I've been dying to try one. But, if we're talking generic sandwich from a butt-hurting place in the food court, I'll go with gyro sliced fresh off the cone. Alas, I will abstain from voting in this one.
Moby Dick's gyro isn't anything special, but that's like judging cheeseburgers on McDonalds.
middle eastern gyros pwn the greeks gyros
pretty much the complete opposite imo...gyros vary greatly...dry meat is the usual suspect...ingrediant proportion is another problem......i think its definitely harder to find a good gyro than a bad one
gyros are fine sandwiches and i like them a lot but the notion of them winning this particular match up is a disgrace...also lets be honest without the tzatziki it doesnt exist....you could pretty much put that shit on anything throw it in a pita and it would be good....whereas the roast pork is the perfect coming together of four different all world ingrediants
