Yeah, and even the "whites" are from all kinds of cultures and there are a ton of foreign nationals. It's one of the things I like the most about raising a kid here is that he's exposed to friends from so many different cultures. I'm pretty sure at least half of his friends have at least one parent whose native tongue is not English.
Yeah, my HS was like 35% white. Lol @ pasty white. The best is it is coming from a Philadelphian. I've been in Philly 18 months and have yet to see some ethnicity other than American white or American black. Except in Chinatown.
Yeah, there were all those russian spies living in DC that 5th conveniently forgets
I think it's more of a representation of the United States. Where I live has a lot of immigrants too, with South Korea accounting for about 90% of them and they currently have a big hold on the surrounding businesses. The US is most definitely a salad bowl/melting pot/whatever you would like to call it.
A salad bowl? WTF are they teaching you kids nowadays?
America: The Tossed Salad of the World
lol That was the 7th grade in 2008. Apparently it's the more politically correct term these days.
not much apparently. they are opposites. melting pot is when people come together and acculturate and the salad bowl cultural idea is when people live together and do not acculturate.

Definitely a PC thing. I remember when I was in high school they were talking about getting rid of the "melting pot" thing because to the PC thugs it presumes that people have to come here and assimilate. In the salad bowl everyone can retains their cultural identity (while remaining separate from others).
Who knew that fondue was so anti-PC.
They want Magneto instead of Professor Xavier.

wtf, don't you mix a salad? Stupidest analogy ever.
You can mix it all you want but it's not like the lettuce merges with the olives. The only thing everyone has in common is getting covered with the dressing of despair ( caused by Obama's America)
Olives are disgusting, I'm definitely not putting them into any salad.
Some olives come to the salad with some skills and they bring a lot to the table and are ready to contribute. But some olives come and just want to leach off the other ingredients.
DC is definitely uglier than any west coast city, and probably as far east as Vegas. It may be the second or third ugliest on the East Coast, but don't see how you can put Philly ahead of it. Or Boston. Chicago may eke out a draw by virtue of its size, but DC has every other city north of Kentucky beat in middle America.

Fashion is definitely a issue in DC.
Every Nats game I've been to I've noticed an inordinate amount of fat people but that's probably just nova.
im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.
I want to commit Olive Gardenicide on the entire species.
It's the fucking anchovies who ruin it for everybody. Nobody likes them, they should just stay with their own kind.
