Buying someone you don't like a pet

How would one go about doing this? This is tough because you don't want them abandoning the pet or anything.
Also, forget about the whole bird/reptile/amphibian angle. Dogs or cats only. My first thought was beagle mix, so it starts off as a cute puppy but then does that awful howling thing later in life.

Seriously, giving someone a cat is about the worst thing I can think of to do to them. Especially a cat who is too old to get declawed. Cats are so easy though. Put out some food and water and you're likely to never see it again.
A cute little lab puppy that will grow to 100lbs on the other hand...
(This is assuming the person doesn't want a pet at all)

Buy them a puppy, let them grow to care for it and love it. Let it get to the prime of its life, hopefully very well trained and behaved.
Then behead it and leave the head in their bed.

The absolute worst thing you could do is buy a purebred dog from a puppy-mill or other disreputable breeder, one that is certain to be inbred with lots of health problems. That would certainly result in mental, physical and ultimately emotional fatigue, but you would need to have a black heart to set someone up for pain like that. Personally, I prefer honey badger.

I guess I haven't been clear on the matter. No violence.
Per dogs: I think one of the best things would be a cute ducking turned ugly swan scenario. If there's a breed that is extremely cute as a puppy and the Chinese crescent come adult, that would be a good start.

I know a realtor who was showing a building recently that has sat vacant for a long period of time. When he enters, he hears the craziest, growling, screeching, what every the f**king you can think of. Come to find out, it was two raccoons gettin it on.

Mastiff. Cute as a puppy. Then they grow into 200 pound slobbering machines. Would be a drain on their finances with the food too.

A box of hamsters. Tons of poop and they procreate constantly. Their dance is pretty annoying too.
