    Drive an Acura, do ya?

HAHA is this for real? I have a TSX tech and it literally goes the most retarded ways. Any tips?

We have the same car and the same issues. Whatever you do, when they offer you upgraded software, decline, it doesn't help.

First thing we've ever seen eye to eye on, eh?

  • I think the ways that LBT and others have been giving you will be better in the morning, but the afternoon is going to be tougher. I used to do Bowie to Clarendon and I'd cut through the city on 295-SE/SW Freeway - 395 and then take the GW Parkway to Spout Run. Usually 295 and the Freeway were fine, but that stretch where the Freeway merged with the tunnel from NY Ave to the Parkway is just brutal and made worse because of the heavy merging in the area. You can sit in that area for 30 minutes on a bad day.

If you are getting home in 40-50 minutes on the beltway and don't mind the additional miles on your car, I'd say stick with what you are doing. Only caveat is that you are leaving a lot earlier in the day than I was, so 295 may not be so bad at 4 PM. At 6 PM, however, it's brutal.

Just my $0.02. I keep thinking I'm going to discover new routes for my commute, but inevitably, someone has found the "new" route already.

Thanks for the feedback - I will just have to try everything out. But never again with the traffic circles ha

I think I figured out the route to take this morning once I got in and checked it out. I am coming from Clarendon (right by Wash Blvd) and going to 2800 Powder Mill Rd (so as I mentioned before it's not exactly in CP, few miles away)

Standard route, with the left at Penna Ave. I would go this way early AM (before 6).

  • If the exit for Pennsylvania is terrible (backed up down the ramp):

Its status as an illegal left turn is debatable.

  • oh, being north of the beltway, not in college park, changes things. the mileage difference between that route and the gw parkway/beltway route is way less.

  • The reverse, you're fucked going outbound since 395 stacks up during normal rush hour.

  • The standard route I take to VA from anywhere along 295:

The riding the ramps of Suitland Parkway will be obsolete in about a month with the new 11st Bridge opening.

Yeah I was not very explicit in what I said, but I appreciate the feedback from all.

Haha I was thinking the same thing! I think we have the Skins as well if I recall correctly.

Do love the TSX though -- have had zero issues over the past 1.5 years....gets great mileage and solid performance.

it saves all of one mile with your route. im sure the times are very comparable, unlike going to downtown CP which your route would save time.

  • LOL I was reading this page from bottom to top and was kinda surprised to see the address where I work.

    Then I remembered 7erps. (shakes fist) 7ERPS!

BTW I live in Crofton so I can't provide any help on your commute. cyclops

  • While my daily commute in sucks, it is great to work downtown for Nats games and Terp hoop games. I should be at Comcast center in less than 25 minutes compared to two hours sometimes from Tysons.

  • Southbound 11st Bridge has been open for about a month, and I've saved an average of 10 minutes on my College Park to Alexandria hauls. Its almost an hour already. When the northbound bridge is finished, I swear I won't know what to do with all the extra time.

Why did retards block this for so long?

Didn't someone say they were using the northwest part of the beltway for this route? This is relevant to you, we swear.
