Just started last week on the advice of Dexterstjacques...
A little background: I think I was a carb addict before. Soda, pasta, pizza, corn chips (so addicting), potatoes, sandwiches of all types, breads. I loved them all. I didn't make too many healthy choices previously, but I also never felt like I was eating all that much. I'd eat 1400 cal/day and not lose weight. Moreover, I had never been someone who was super excited about meats. Sure I enjoyed bacon, steak, etc., but I think most of my dietary choices were made because I was looking for the next carb load.
Upon coming to this realization, paleo seemed like something worth trying. Seems like it's going well so far. I made the mistake of not weighing myself at the beginning, but I've lost 4.5 lbs since Sunday!
I've occasionally felt slightly queasy with mild headaches. I'm sure that I'm still adjusting and that it may take a few weeks. But like others have said, I am hardly ever hungry, and don't really have carb cravings. They're also easier to resist when they're basically not allowed.
I'm not eating much right now, probably ~1500 cal/day (if that), but my body seems to be supplementing that with some significant fat burn.
My plan is to let the body adjust a bit more, get used to this, and maybe ease into working out over the next few weeks. I don't want to bonk out.
Well, I mean, that’s what it is. I doodoo and then listen to Katy Perry.

The only issue has been the past two days. Last night in particular....after playing basketball for a couple hours, I wasn't necessarily exhausted, but just felt anemic. So, looking deeper, I guess some people have what amounts to gluten withdrawal symptoms. Anyone here dealt with that and, if so, for how long?

Also, what are some basics or important things to understand for those who have invested themselves into this lifestyle? Are there any important tips to replacing what my body needs or was getting from the products I've eliminated? I'll read the thread more closely, since I'm sure everything is covered there.

Anyone Eat Paleo?
