OK- b/c I was looking at the Amazon preview of the Everyday Paleo book and there are a lot of nuts listed on there to have in your pantry.

Yeah, nuts are usually allowed, but my problem is that if I allow myself to eat nuts I eat so many of them that I don't lose weight.

+1 on the wife! I persuaded the Mrs. to stop with the veg oils, etc. Mostly butter now. I would like to try ghee, but unless I can find it at Wegman's, it's probably not going to happen. Be careful with olive oil. It becomes toxic at high heat.

Re. nuts: I do the same thing...go crazy sometimes. I just knocked down 700 cals of cashews. I better go eat some bacon to balance my fats... :D

If u are going to consume booze, at least cheat with stout beer; it is less inflammatory. There are gluten free vodkas and tequila is from agave. Red wine, like cabernet sauvignon is a good option.

This is for those that aren't going full paleo or can't give up alcohol.

My daughter-in-law used to compete in professional fitness events, and she has done the paleo diet for some time now. It cleared up her digestive difficulties too and stomach problems. She served the spaghetti squash like that pictured in the article, and it was very good.

We're at Wegman's every weekend. I'm fine with butter, but I'll check out Ghee. I found the coconut oil and can't make myself try it even though I know it won't make the food taste like coconuts. I can't stand coconut. When I'm full on Paleo I lose too much weight. I tried drinking coconut milk as some of the hardgainers recommend. Ugh! Sits like a rock. Although I probably shouldn't have done a whole can at once w/o trying it. That's somewhere around 1k calories.

Going to start this today and see how the next 30 days go.
