Anybody getting Skyrim tomorrow?

    Yeah, I wasn't able to play at all except for about 45 minutes last night. I managed to die in a fire straight off the bat, and then went off exploring and am now pinned down by two necromancers and an army of skeletons.

    I got him at level 4. Did a shout, two firebolts and one steel axe to the head. He killed Lydia though, but she sucked anyway.

  • I bought and set up a second 60 inch tv in the living room just so I could play while the GF sat on the couch and watched some crappy TV. Now we can spend hours of "quality time" together!

    Plus, I can't wait until there may be two football games or something I need to watch on a Sunday.

    Damn I may be a genius!

  • Sooooo I haven't sat down to play. I saw someone say you can't key bind beyond default...that may be a dagger for me on PC for my first play through. Might have to buy a controller for pc or something in that case.

    You can bind weapons/spells as 1-8, and reset a bunch of other stuff

    Wait you can? This would catapult me to new levels of enjoying the game. I'm getting sick of shifting between things with favorites.

    It's funny I keep reading on the internet how Lydia sucks, just in case anyone doesn't know if you put weapons/armor into her inventory she will equip it. I've got her with a 2h sword and dwarven armor and she pwns face.

    Edit - yeah I cant find any way to do it, where do you do this?

    Favorite an item, then when you've got your favorites menu open, hover over the item and press a number, for anyone as unintuitive as I am. Oddly enough I should have guessed this from Oblivion.

  • Just started playing it as the giant cat guy, seems awesome so far. Except I wish they would call you by the name you typed in. I picked the cat guy just so I could name myself MC Scat Cat.

    Re: the keybind situation. I think someone was referring to rebinding the numpad keys...something I haven't been able to figure out but a neccessity for those of us that play left handed on pc. Anyone figure that out yet?

    You can play 3rd person, but in my opinion, it kinda sucks.

    I played for 22 hrs this weekend because my gf was busy the entire weekend...now all I want to do is skip work to play.

    The F key will switch views, or the mouse scroll wheel will. It is pretty badass dressing up in hides and sneaking over the tundra in third person.

    No clue how you can do it with console controls.

  • Got to level 5 last night (lol) and got RAPED by a frost dragon on some mountain. I tried to run away but fell to my demise, my body shattered on some rocks.

    Yeah, I was sneaking through the mountains during a snowstorm, and I found what looked like shelter. Unfortunately, I realized too late (detected!) that the rock I was sneaking up next to the entrance was actually a bear. After getting mauled ferociously I attempted to run.....off a cliff. I landed, but then the bear followed me down and pretty much ate my face.

    My girlfriend did not have much empathy for my lack of saving skills as she laughed in my face.

  • I hired the chick from the tavern in Whiterun before heading off after the Juergen's horn. Quite worth the 500 if you've already killed off Lydia.
