False. Had to cancel a skiing trip because it was too warm out.

  • If I never saw snow again I would not care. If I never saw a girl wear a bikini top to a baseball game again, my will to live would be devastated.

  • Wow, a lot of hating on (love it Toogs) Florida. Which is great, please take your dying relatives back home next time you visit.

I'm stunned here. Cancelling a marathon because of heat. "The Madison Marathon is so very Wisconsin." Maybe run it in February next time after you plow the streets there. What the heck is wrong with you Northerners? Are you afraid of your wimmenz in shorts, 9-month beach seasons, golf year round, alligators eating your neighbor's noisy pets?

Florida is great, all I'm hearing is a bunch of jellus loozers whining.

Oh, wow, someone couldn't run thirty miles because it was hot. As opposed to being STUCK IN MY HOUSE unable to do anything because there's 11 billion feet of snow on the ground.

  • I think that is why George Zimmerman thought Trayvon Martin was up to no good. He was wearing a hoodie in Florida.

  • The extremes of either suck, but my Baltic blood makes heat like today especially unbearable. I don't think experiencing heat like this for an extended period is good for ones brain. If I had to live in 90s+ and humidity for more than a couple weeks at a time I'd probably end up naked and eating someone's face some day.

Im ready for aa 5th of vodica to end my feels.

It was February, during our 3-week Winter. You have to take that into account.

  • A little bit of research and I found out the real reason for the cancellation of the Madison Marathon.

National Black Marathoners’ Association to Hold 9th Annual Gathering at the 2012 Madison Marathon
Madison, WI – Jan. 6, 2012 – The National Black Marathoners’ Association (NBMA) announced its ninth annual marathon gathering will be held at the 2012 Madison Marathon on May 26 and 27, 2012. The NBMA serves as a vehicle for Black Americans to meet en mass at a single marathon and provides scholarships to a deserving high school boy and girl distance runner each year.

Again, the man (cheese-eating whitey, naturally) keeping the Black Marathoners DOWN.

Check out Sarasota, incredible weather, some of the best beaches ANYWHERE, generic 70-85 temps all year long w/a little hot weather in the middle of the summer. When I went down to play golf in 2nd week of Feb, a club member told us he didn't have his heater or A/C on since early Nov. Try that around here. We are just getting that kind of weather, 3 months later (tough lost living here and wanting to be outside in short sleeve and shorts during winter and spring 6 months for those counting). Even when it is in low 80's the breeze still brings it down a few notches.

Fla could vote to multiply their state tax by 10 and it would still be the same = zero !

Thankfully our great governor called an emegency session to jack up my taxes. Guess he forgot to do it in the normal course of his business or between sessions at Rams Head.

i spent some time down there for spring training. stayed off st armand's circle which was really nice. but overall sarasota just seemed dumpy and lacking of character. just not someplace i'd want to call home.

also, any beach that isn't abutting an ocean is a max 3 out of 10 on the beach scale.

  • People hating on Florida and citing anything other than the nice parts are ridiculous. Those are clearly two separate states. When people talk about Florida, they don't mean Jacksonville. That being said, walking home, in 90+ degree heat, in work clothes, in the city, is brutal. If I had to wear a suit to work, I'd kill myself. Warm weather is for vacation. Last I checked, real cities are generally not warm weather cities. Ill take 10-80 355 days a year rather than 75-100 355 days a year.

I'll take 75 -100 370 days in a row. You probably get fewer 100 days in Sarasota than Wash DC (which has no breeze, great clear grey skies, and humidity to match the temp). Not that way on the west coast, which is the nicer of the two. Fewer diezen sightings as well.

One sight you will see is easy on the eyes at lunch, the women know how to dress for the climate there and it makes eating outdoors all the more inviting, something I do once a year around here, but something you could do more than once a day in Fla.

Just depends if you like being outside I guess. Since I have spent my whole careet inside, I welcome the outside. Outside at 75 suits me better than outside at 45, with windchill to 37.

Miami Police Shoot, Kill Man Eating Another Man’s Face

Miami police are still tight-lipped about the man they shot and killed on the MacArthur Causeway Saturday afternoon, but new details back claims they had no choice: the naked man they shot was trying to chew the face off another naked man, and refused to obey police orders to stop his grisly meal, which one source now claims included his nose and eyeballs.
