    From the AT&T National website:

Bus Route T2 from Friendship Heights or Rockville.
Bus Route 36 from Bethesda (NO FRIDAY OR WEEKEND SERVICE).

Yeah, those Potomac folks are the same at the Gtown folks, no Metro in my neighborhood. The good thing about those buses is they probably drop you right across from the main entrance on River.

Heat or the storm? I was all set to go, then the guy I was meeting kept giving me updates of the carnage that is Montgomery County. He told me to stay home. Must be bad if they are turning away spectators.

    Not heat.

A massive storm overnight has suspended the third round of the AT&T National because of several trees on the ground at Congressional. Officials say even if the course gets ready, fans will not be allowed Saturday.

The storm caused power outages and downed trees throughout the region.

Among the problems at Congressional were scattered trees, including a 75-foot tree that crashed down on the 14th hole fairway. Nearly every fairway, especially on the back nine, was littered with limbs -- large and small.

Some tents were blown over, and the wooden sign identifying the 11th hole was ripped from its post on the tee box.

"Winds in the range of 70-80 mph were reported," according to a statement issued by the PGA Tour. "No confirmation has been made on a tornado. There are trees and tents down all over the course and roads leading to the course. Clean-up has begun. Electricity is out at the course."

Volunteers also have been told to stay home Saturday.

Tournament officials will honor all Saturday tickets on Sunday. Workers were trying to get the course ready through the night, though it was unclear if it would be ready for Saturday.

"At this time, it's unknown if competition will take place today," according to Saturday's statement. "Competition will definitely resume on Sunday."

  • Saw a guy do the same thing at the Open last year, he was lucky he wasn't decapitated.

A volunteer marshall at the AT&T National golf tournament at Bethesda’s Congressional Country Club was injured Friday morning when he drove a golf cart into one of the nylon ropes that separate the course from the areas for fans, suffering a severe cut to his neck.

“He’d been going full force,” said Rick Elion, a doctor from Bethesda who happened to be nearby. “The twine hit him just below the chin.”

Elion said the man’s arteries were cut on both sides of his neck, and he was bleeding profusely. Elion and others nearby helped slow the bleeding by wrapping the man’s jacket around his neck, he said. A fan called 911, and medical personnel stationed at the tournament site soon arrived.

Emergency responders took the volunteer to an area hospital, according to a statement from tournament director Greg McLaughlin.

Holy shit! That must have looked really bad, I can't believe he didn't bleed out. So it looks like he's going to be OK?

I didn't realize how much I would miss having TV, AC, Radio, internet, phone chargers as I do when it's 103 outside.
Took me 1 1/2 hr to skim shit out of pool so we could swim. It's really gonna be bad tonight when I don't have any ice cubes for my bourbon☻

Both my parents and my in-laws have no power. I have a feeling casa de EAM is going to be crowded tonight.
