The only thing I know about this movie is that I saw the commercial once, but why did they bother naming it "21 Jump Street"? Why not just make it it's own franchise? Are there that many fans of the TV show champing at the bit for a movie that will be fooled into seeing one that seems like it has nothing to do with the show besides the basic premise?

I went to the press advance viewing last week, and I was going to start this thread. Long story short, it is absolutely hilarious. My gf, who does not laugh, and rarely even cracks a smile, was actually holding her stomach from laughing at one point. It is very self-aware, and the actors have great chemistry together.
Oh, and the best part? Most of the funny parts are not in the preview!

It was funny.
Its not on Oldschool, hangover, wedding crashers, step brothers level funny though. Had a lot of dead spots where i wasnt laughing for awhile.
