A man who has tried both places, and lives pretty much equal distance from each says its about a wash, with the slight lean to Santucci's. Maybe I have to give Santucci's another try.
On the "random" level, trying to park and get out at either place is an absolute nightmare.

amorosos is terrible bread...they got way too big...its factory made thats slightly better than supermarket quality...if your bread is made packaged and shipped to another state then it cant be that good
the really good steak and sandwich shops in philly get bread deliveries every morning direct from one of the many bakeries around the city and they come in brown paper grocery bags straight out the oven
im too young to have experienced it but in its hey day amorosos supposedly could have stood up to any bakery in south philly...and its those bakerys still around that make the best bread in the world imo...at least the best ive ever had
