The Terps beat Towson 82-46. Brene Mosley had 26pts. The team shot 58% from the field.

Good job ladies. Keep it up!

They played great defense as well holding Towson to 26% shooting. Bays with 10 rebounds. Nice job there.

They play 5 out of their next 8 games on the road. Time to see how good they really are.

  • Mosely just in the third game of her college career. Very quick guard and deadly shot (this game was not a fluke). How was she not a top player coming out of high school?

Congratulations Brene ... I suspect this will be the first of many ACC rookie of the week awards for her this season.

  • Where was Natasha Cloud ? I guess the NCAA didn't buy the family hardship story, and made her red-shirt.

She was a top player her junior year. Top 25-50 if I remember correctly. I saw Brenda at several of her games that I covered that year. But yeah, her hype dropped after the injury.

She just looks smooth. I don't know how to put it in basketball-speak, but she just handles the ball well and has some swagger about her. I like it a lot. She'll have to take the reins next year at PG for sure, and will only have a Freshman as backup. So she'll get plennnnnty of time to make that Sophomore leap. She's already well above what I thought she'd be. Inconsistent, but when she's on...nasty.

  • With Tennessee and Duke losing, Maryland should move up to 6th in the rankings. Michigan is next in the ACC/Big 10+2 shootout.

  • Lady Terps are #6 in the latest AP poll.

Delaware is #24 for their first ever ranking. Elena Della Donne is the nations leading scorer at 30 ppg. Look like Maryland and Delaware is on a collision course for their battle of the Chesapeake on Dec. 29th at Comcast.

There's only one time I've been interested in a womens basketball recruiting battle, and it was the one for EDD. I haven't heard much about her since she ended up at Delaware, but I'm not at all surprised she has them ranked. She was an unbelievable talent coming out of high school, and its crazy to imagine how good these past few UConn teams would have been had she stayed there. I'm convinced she would have been better than Maya Moore.

How much better could they have been? They went undefeated and basically blew everyone out. I have a niece that was really good at softball but wanted to play volleyball too. Her parents didn't let her because they wanted her to play softball year round. She got a scholarship to play in college but I couldn't help thinking of that girls story.

of course not, Brenda has a habit of misrepresenting things, if Cloud had a valid reason to move back home the NCAA would not make her redshirt

Frese cannot coach at all, Yow saw this, and spent $300,000. on new coaches to cover it up.If you listen to Frese during timeouts, she makes brilliant statements like we need more energy, she never makes any intelligent adjustments.

The "We are family " theme of the team is laughable, tell it to all the coaches who were thrown under the bus by Frese, and forced out, or fired. Tell it to the dozen, or so transfers.

I have been to close enough to hear Frese during timeouts, she sounds like a JV coach . She makes no strategic adjustments, just says "we need more energy". Walz deserves most of the credit for the national championship, and without him Frese looks like a fool.

  • There isn't any reason to make any adjustments during the game since they won them all by double digits. In January when the ACC season starts, we'll see how she coaches. But she has good assistants. Use them.

The Lady Terps have 4 of the top 11 scorers in the ACC. (out of 12 teams). Very impressive.

We should win 6 straight but a road game against George Mason (5-1) and a home game against #24 Delaware will be difficult. And GMU only loss is to American who we play on the road on Sunday.

Also, don't forget Hawkins with 16 rebounds last night.
