Penn State has no clear rival and is <4 hours away. Seems like a perfect rival. Plus, we'll probably both be free of our bowl ban around the same time.

Well, you might as well make it Penn State for a couple reasons. 1) they are competing for your turf in recruiting 2) They whine, about everything! (Refs hate us, Jim Delaney hates us, there's a conspiracy against us, well, you'll see) 3) Everyone else in the BIG does, (their thoughts) so you might as well too.

as a michigan state alum I resemble these remarks..... lol
in the B1G (jeez you'll have to get use to saying that).... everyone hate Michigan.... followed by Ohio State.... Penn state for the "sandusky" business... northwestern are always "pesky"... in BB season it will be hate on Wisconsin floppers... MSU's thuggish play... and just laughing at how Michigan tend to become a train wreck in the NCAA's.....

Definitely Wisconsin in hoops because of that tedious effing style of basketball. Maybe Michigan State because of the tough tourney losses and a somewhat bruising style too. Football is definitely UPS and then play it by ear the rest of the way, at this point I'm not willing to create an artificial rivalry with Rutgers but that could change (see below).
Have to think they would put both us and Rutgers in the division with Penn State so that we each play one another every year (otherwise you could only have one pairing across divisions and the other matchup wouldn't always happen) and someone would move out of that one and into the other. Big 10 needs to drop those asinine division names too.

If there were only a school guilty of the most heinous scandal in the history of American sports, we could definitely hate them.
