What would you give up to ensure the NFL played a full season?

Yeah us Redskins fans don't have a lot to look forwad to, as usual. But the Ravens fans may feel this way in June but having lived through 2 shortened seasons I know they'll feel differently in September.

still not over the Steelers loss. a half season means less pain.

  • Add me to the really don't care list. And I like the NFL, but at least to me it'll never be more than a Sunday and Monday addendum to college football. Aside from maybe boosting interest in the Terps, another hugely overlooked bonus will be not hearing every moron talk about their fantasy team.

  • i really hope they don't play a full season. the pro fans should pack byrd just to get their weekend football fix, and maybe we can even turn some of them into future season ticket holders.

  • This would be much more interesting if you asked me the opposite question.

  • I prefer the NFL to every other American sports league whether its college or pro but i wouldnt give that much to ensure a full season.

Most despised NFL team ends up winning it all next year

We're pretty much guaranteed this happens at least once more until Tom Brady retires.

Here is the list of things you may leverage right now in favor of a full season of professional football in 2011. Assume that the season is significantly impacted by the current labor dispute (lockout until further notice, 2012, etc.). If it sounds negative, assume it happens if you choose the full NFL season. Also, don't be dumb.

You get a BLT You get $100 cash right now Terps FB winning the Atlantic (bowl TBD) Terps basketball finishing .500 in ACC play Most despised NFL team ends up winning it all next year Wizards get Kanter You get $1000 cash right now Bino leaves right away Dune Buggy Debbie returns John Wall ACL tear Magic Johnson does highlights of your day every day for the next year Shopping spree at an upscale clothing store ($6000 limit) Cleare to MD Loss of all feeling in that region for 3 years Only feeling in that region for 3 months straight A 20-count box of Dunkaroos [Major political party you despise most] in power nationally until 2016 Like 6 or 7 kittens that remain kittens for the rest of your life

Also, I'd give up all but Debbie returns

  • Wow, seems like a lot of people here don't like fun. I, for one, would like to continue having a shit load of fun on Sundays in the fall.

AlphaOmega said... im sorry i was confusing...your "Superbowl" was the Redskins losing since you know that the Ravens cant win it all.

    $100. Maybe.

Could care less honestly. NFL is easily the most overrated of the major sports and just gets jammed our throats relentlessly. Of course I follow it, but it gets way too much coverage for what it is.

Wow the numbers say you are in the minority. The NFL is easily the most popular of all sports, I know it's my favorite.

    DarrellGreenFan

  • With my team being the legitimate favorite to win it all and repeat, hell yea id give up a lot on that list to ensure a full season.

Me too, and I'm an NFL season ticket holder.

  • I think people would miss the NFL a lot more than they realize.

I also think it would be stupid to get a full season for anything less than a huge event, like Yao returning or a Dune Buggy.

    multiple awards

  • I think a lot of people are disenchanted with the NFL due to the lockout. If you asked this two summers ago, I would not take a stud like Cleare coming to MD over missing one NFL game. I don't care much to see millionaires bicker with billionaires while showing that they don't care about me, the fan. This was the first year I didn't watch any of the combine, let alone the draft. The NFL has done a fantastic job of alienating its fans this offseason.

I'd definitely take a BLT today over a full NFL season.

    ajefx

  • It's not that I hate the NFL or something - it's more that I can find plenty of things to do on fall weekends. I already don't spend too much time watching the NFL, since the Redskins blow. MNF is generally something I'll have on in the background while I do other things, unless it's a really compelling game. Sunday night is the same. Sunday during the day, I'm usually on the golf course anyway.

I think that college football fans would miss the NFL far less than people who view college football as something to pass the time on Saturdays while waiting for Sunday.

  • The NFL can lose the entire season and I won't miss a beat so add me to the list of "eh, I can live without it" people.

In a world full of good sports, losing the NFL isn't the end of the world. Football isn't' that great.

    LCJ1049

  • Once again, i think people are undervaluing fantasy football in this equation.

A partial season could disrupt the entirety of the fantasy season. A glance back at the board during football season makes this thread full of shrugs seem really disingenuous.

    TheColfax

  • If there's no fantasy season I automatically repeat as champion! I keep the belt for another year.

    Unexpected upside.

    bkmalik

  • Id rather the real wcw come back next year than the nfl

Ditto. If I could trade MD making the NCAAs, I'd gladly give up the NFL for 2 years.

I'd happily give up an NFL season for Magic Johnson does highlights of your day every day for the next year
