Len has a loooooooong way to go before he's NBA draft ready. I wouldn't worry about him jumping ship early

He could/should be better than that big guy from Illinois that just went in the lottery. Sometimes it doesn't take much for a 7-footer to be drafted high. Bulking up 20+ pounds is a great first step.

  • NBA drafts on potential not if they are NBA ready...if he shows potential at 7 feet he will be a lottery pick

Is it bad that I kind of hope Len doesn't progress too much too quickly? If we land the twins then I'd rather have a dominant junior year Len rather then losing him to the draft a year early.

Things could work out well for the Terps. I have a feeling that Faust, if he has put on some muscle, is going to show an NBA-ready game this year in all areas but outside shooting. No NBA team is going to squander a relatively high first round pick (much less a lottery pick) on a wing who can't shoot. Chances are that Faust is back for his junior year.

Even if Len shows NBA potential or better yet NBA game, based on last year I highly doubt he will be emotionally ready for the NBA. Seems very shy and reticent, and I think he would only be 19 at next year's NBA draft, correct? The kid would be miserable living on his own and travelling on the road with adults and enduring the pressure of being a first round pick whose game is not quite ready for primetime. Probably his family is poor enough that he would go and take the money, but he really seems like a kid who could benefit from being in the (relative) cocoon of college life. Just get the insurance.

If we get the Harrisons and Dodd to go with Smotrycz, and only lose Aranholt and Padgett, that really has the makings of a title contender in 2014 if the current freshmen progress at a good rate.

  • Faust will be a 4 year player imo. Len is a total wildcard. He's got the tools. It's just a question of how fast he puts it all together.

  • Due to a total misunderstanding of NBA teams, American geography and the restaurant business, look for Len to declare himself as a free agent headed for the Boston market.

When will college hoops have a "summer game" much like football has a "spring game"? I'd be there!

Not quite the same... Midnight Madness is a month before the season. The spring game is more than 4 months before the season.

    Someone downvoted this? Good lord.

This deserves to be +15 at least.

Good point, but I thought the word was that MKG would become a good shooter with practice given his work ethic. Practice is not going to make Faust a sniper with his bad form.
