Terrapin Sports Marketing Hall of Shame

Can we capitalize in the recent media scrutiny of our embarrassing Terrapin Sports Marketing "white pride" t-shirt to finally shame our university into banning them from creating any more t-shirts?

Let's see if we can dig up all the t-shirts that would go into the TSM hall of shame along with "white pride" "buzz this" "proof is in the pounding" and all the others.... (Basic google image searches didn't turn up much, hopefully people have these saved)

I thought that these dumbass shirts were made by some other company that we outsource this stuff to who also makes dumbass shirts for other schools?

Is the assumption that TSM didn't have final approval? I thought TerpDaddy had some insight on this when the White Pride shirts first came out.

Seriously, they could have student suggestions for dumb slogans that would be better than these terrible sayings on these shirts.
DC Sportsbog also had a post where they said if you order the shirts for the Miami game its 40 bucks including shipping and tax. Boise State had shirts for different sections of their stadium but sold shirts for $9. They should have just made some cheap Fruit of the Loom shirts, had students design a shirt/logo for the special event and sell it for cheap.
Stop paying people to come up with terrible catch phrases that students could give you for free.

Well yeah, but every shirt people post here has a catch phrase as if its some requirement before it hits shelves. Someone has to know the reason for this, I'd love to know why they can't sell shirts with nothing on the back.

If it is outsourced, the design company was probably told that the shirts needed to reflect UMDs rebranding from Terps to Maryland. The design company isn't going to come back with simple designs that say Maryland football on them in 4 different colors because they are going to feel pressured to be creative.

I know it's beating a dead horse but TSM doesn't come up with stuff like this. They only sell the corporate sponsorships (program ads, radio ads, signs in the stadium, etc.)
Only time they get into T-Shirts is if the athletic department wants to give them away and needs a sponsor to pay for them. Thus TSM sells the idea as a way for a sponsor to slap their logo on the shirt as advertising.
This one is on the athletic department and under armour.

There is less than zero chance Under Armour is responsible for coming up with the slogans/design on the back of those shirts.

The best was definitely the shirt commemorating our narrow defeat of a mediocre Georgia Tech team. I believe that was the "buzz this!" shirt and may also have been the "the proof is in the pounding [even though we only won by 3]" shirt.

buzz this was awesome. i was able to flip that thing for 20 bucks to another student because he loved it so much.

No more catch phrases! Just "university of Maryland" and a single Maryland logo ( pick one of the few: testudo, m flag, new terrafont).
Nothing on the back. Ever.
Sell 10x the number of shirts and no shirt will get thrown away. So simple. Nike has been doing this for years.

TSM is an outsourced company that does dumbass shirts for other schools, it's under CBS College Sports I believe.
