Reminder: All American Championship (Cleare, Harrisons)

  • The All American Championship will be played today at 3:00 on espn3, then re-aired at 9:00 on ESPNU. First is the East vs. West game.

    The East team is loaded and led by Nate Britt at the 1. The West team will be led by Andrew Harrison at the 1. We should also get to see a match up of Shaquille Cleare vs. Nerlens Noel, Mitch McGary and some other top players.

    Aaron Harrison is also on the west squad. We'll get a preview of Shaquille as well as a preview of some of Kentucky's freshman since they are our next game.

    There is a North vs. South game afterwards with some other big name players, including Robert Carter(Gatech) and Joel James(UNC) Should be entertaining.

    Below are rosters as well as a preview of the Cleare , Noel matchup

    LMAO @ Mitch Mcgary being 6'10 and not getting off of the ground...I don't know what happened there, he's way more athletic than that norbally

  • Is Andrew a Score first Pg or pass first. Because he doesnt seem like he is creating that much for his teammates? Both he and Aaron seem like scoring guys if you ask me. Or is it the all star game setting?

    Cleare looks good ,soft hands to finish and looks like He could be Jordan Williams part 2, but without the drama.

    Well i think am just neat-picking. But i figure Andrew game would be like Kendall Marshall's. But they are both great players and i hope we get them.

  • I've watched Andrew play at least 5 times, and honestly, I have not been able to really gauge him...I haven't seen anything that would make me say he's overrated nor anything that would make me say he's definitely legit..he's just got the physical attributes I like in a PG but I haven't seen it all come together in a game

    I like Aaron a lot...he seems like he could be a Rip hamilton type (or Juan/Nicholas type for us)...play good defense and come off screens, pull up and hit the open jumper with ease but still be able to get to the hoop sometimes

    The thing about been a 6'5 PG is any night you have a chance to get a triple double, Assist , Points, and Rebounds. Kinda like greivis Vasquez having that height will help you see over the defense, and get boards.

    Aaron is just an attack mode scoring , driving to the basketball Sg like a Jeremy Lamb/Dwyane Wade.

  • When I saw them play last summer, Pops had them playing some nice structured basketball...Aaron was coming off of screens, running nice pick and roll and everything

  • The more i see Andrew play the name John Wall just keeps coming up. he has Pg skills, but he can get to the basketball anytime he wants. and has an explosive first step. Really really impressive by his game. (he made nice shoots, and got a steal too)

  • Cleare needs some work with the strength coach. Nice hands, good instinct. An all star game though so hard to tell too much.

  • Hopefully cleare can work on agility he seems somewhat sluggish. But I love how he is a dirty work post player

  • And hopefully the twins can work on not looking exactly alike. its had to tell who is who out there. maybe one can grow his hairout or something or get a tatoo or something.

  • I was impressed. Typically in an all star game you get alot of forced action, he seemed to just let the game come to him. Took shots when he had them, tried backing them down, tried a jump hook, hit a jumper. tried for a putback jam that rimmed out, and one nice dunk. He also had a sweet pass to the open man beneath the rim when he couldve easily just gone up strong...and maybe should have. Eitherway he seems like a very smart player. I cant wait to see what he does when he gets alot of touches in the half court next year.

  • The Harrisons are very good shooters right now, they could be deadly by the time their freshman year comes. If we get them, and we manage to keep Len and Shaq improves, we are going to be really nasty. Assuming Faust doesnt bolt for the league after his inevitable blowup this year.
