Unfortunately it will be the entire team's first year in the offense so he'd probably get only 15 TDs.

Smith is probably going to the NFL at the end of this year so I don't think he'd stay for Leach.

Why be a 3rd or 4th round pick when you could light it up in Leach's offense and be a top 10 pick next year?

Given the impending lockout, I'm not sure he (or many other other JRs) will go pro.

I forgot about the CBA thing. It would be awesome if he came back, but I'm not counting on it. He gets his degree in December.

If O'Brien can show steady progress this year, we hire a good coach, and Smith gets his draft papers back that shows him as a 3rd rounder then he may come back.
Otherwise, I'm not holding my breath.

As mentioned, he gets his degree this year, and I think the staff has said they know he's gone.
Plus, the 2011 draft is guaranteed to happen under the current CBA. Wouldn't JRs want to go pro and get a contract before a possible lockout?

The lockout would be a reason to go now. One of the biggest thing the owners are pushing for is a slotted draft payoff. Dudes want to get paid, so they leave now.
