  • * Amba Etta-Tawo is one of the fastest kids in the state of Georgia. He has consistently been a top competitor in the 100/200 meters. As a 6' 3" WR he sounds like a pretty decent athlete to me.

    * Malcolm Culmer twice was clocked at 4.4 at Maryland's football camp.

    * Alvin Hill ran the second fastest 40 time at the Nike Sparq Camp in Atlanta.

  • This is Vanderlinden all over again. The guy complained from Day 1 how he didn't have enough talent (meanwhile kids he inherited were going to the NFL left and right). The kids didn't want to play for him and he lost the team very early on.

  • another lesson he could take from turge. we all know the talent on the basketball roster he inherited is not where it needs to be. but publicly it was "we have a bunch of great guys on scholarship, just not enough of them."

    edsall makes himself so hateable, it's unreal.

  • Half of the Edsall haters call him out for being a phony, then when he speaks the truth about things he is blasted for that as well.

    The current roster, with all of the injuries does not stack up real well athletically against FSU or Clemson. The beat down that Sammy Watkins put on us, is a pretty good example of that. He was faster and more athletic than every Maryland player on the field.

    How do you know that Sean Davis (2012) or Makinton Dorleant (2011) won't be that guy? Edsall is also recruiting Ronald Darby pretty hard.

    I disagree with the fact that he had to bring this out to the public like this. Guess what? Wake doesn't have the speed and athleticism that FSU has. But what they do have is a coach that doesn't suck. A coach that actually puts his players in a position to win instead of what d-bag Randy does. And then when his complete lack of coaching ability is made painfully obvious by another epic beatdown, what does he do? He bitches about how we don't have the talent.

    Meanwhile, what was the problem with Temple? Did we just not have right cheerleaders supporting us?

    Seriously, Edsall needs to STFU and just leave.

    I only give him any credit at all for it because of the fact that, Dorleant along with Hendy were guys that were outwardly angry with the departure of Don Brown. Edsall had to do some hard work to keep them at Maryland

    First off, half of the people on this board only joined 10 months ago or less. It hasn't been around that long.

    Second, Yes I was a fan of the Edsall hire. Due to where I live now I watched a number of his UCONN teams. The guy is a solid coach and a good talent evaluator, but I am not some fawning fanboy that doesn't think he has his faults. Especially in his on-field management of a game or press handling. When it comes to calling him a phony or a douche bag, well that I don't believe.

  • I don't care if Edsall is phony or not...what I care about is him managing the program and perhaps most importantly, managing the players morale, desire and effort. He's done the complete opposite. he's broken several simple management rules. And I agree he's being self-serving right now. He's acting like he came here from Bama and cannot believe what he has to work with. You came from freakin Uconn dude. Get a grip.

    I'll use this thread as a solid cross-sampling of the board. In this thread 59 people have posted. 51 of them have been on the board more than 10 months. That's 86%. Only 8 have been around 10 months or less.

    You may say you're not a sycophantic fanboi but your posts say otherwise.
