So true. This "we don't have ACC level talent" argument is so incredibly stupid and dishonest. We have similar or better talent than a bunch of teams ahead of us in the standings (UVG, NC ST, Miami) and MUCH better talent than Clemson, a team that is tied with us. Lack of talent IS what is keeping us from being able to compete with Duke and UNC. Its not a real excuse for why we can't compete with UVG, Miami and NC St.

And we had to figure out Mike Scott and all their other big scorers? The only other guy they have that is close to a threat played with a broken hand and didn't do anything.

They have players who are physically capable of slowing down Stoglin, we do not have players who are capable of slowing down Scott.

That's why you try a double team or at least put your best post defender on him instead of Weijs and Padgett.

Scott getting 25 is about what we should've expected against our bigs, The problem was guys like Brogdon logging 14 and Zeglenski getting 11 and then our four bigs combining for 10 points and Sean Mosley getting 2.

It's actually a really big part of being a good (interior) defender which is why pretty much every big man ever in the history of basketball who was good defensively was a shot blocking threat.

And regardless of that the point that he is our best post defender is fairly indisputable even if we agree that he "isn't that good a defender".

Hmm I think he's a pretty good one overall. He may have regressed a bit from his days at A&M, but it's his first year here. I wish he played zone more though. A team like UVA would struggle more against it. When they started scoring on us we stilled played man to man.

What's interesting to me is that you make a great point and have 6-8 downvotes on every one of your comments in this thread. Someone else says they " actually agree with you" and essentially make the same argument you do. What do they get? 6-8 downvotes? Fuck no, they get that many UP votes. This upvote/downvote feature is juvenile and fucking stupid. What's the point? Do you have to see if other people like an opinion before deciding if you approve of it or not? Scott scores most of his points on stand still jumpers, not interior post-up moves. Len is not the answer.

Unfortunately, the answer is not on this roster, unless Mosely grows 2 or 3 inches overnite.
