One thing that worries me about Turgeon...

  • His halftime adjustments

    We get pwned by any decent team right after halftime

    if it's a close game, there's always some early half run by the opponent where we turn to absolute shit and the other team has an answer for everything

    iona, Duke both times, UNC, Virginia

    it's probably happened a few more times...

    Someone else has to notice this

    Yes. But I think it has more to do with shitty, weak minded players.

  • It's not a halftime problem. We were just 6-8 from 3 in the first half.

  • It's true, and you can add FSU going on a run soon after the break, lthough I don't think UVA is anywhere near the caliber of those other teams except Iona. That's what makes this performance worse, UVA doesn't look like much of a team.

Do some people really believe we are the only team that gets beat by Duke,Carolina, Fl. ST in the 2nd half. Can't make Chicken Soup outta Chiken Feathers!

  • I'll start to worry about this when he has the type of team he really wants on the floor. Not saying it may not be a problem then, but it's really hard to judge now.

  • As you noted, any Team (for any reason that scores only 13 pts. in a half) has bigger problems than coaching! Today the players just plainly STUNK UP the Place! SIMPLE FACT!

  • I actually agree with troll black, I can't believe this.

    Second half adjustments are a major issue. It's been a consistent occurrence all year to see us play a good first half and follow that up with a horrific drought that either a) allows a team to get back in the game or b) allows for enough distance to ensure we can't get back in the game. I'll give Turgeon the benefit of the doubt since it's a new team and everyone is still adjusting, but you'd be crazy to ignore the second half problems this season.

    Turge should have had everyone practicing f'ing layups.........

    To answer your question, it has little to do with coaching and everything to do with recruiting. It would be useful to have more than 2 acc-level players on the court at any one time especially if you're playing an acc team in their building.

So we didn't play well after halftime in one of Turge's first games against a decent mid major without Len and Pe'Shon, we didn't play well against Duke twice and at UVA in one of our first games without a point guard, but it's because Turge is terrible at making halftime adjustments? Just making sure I have this down.

    You forgot to add that Joe Black called the Harrisons on his secure line after the game and they are not coming because UVA blew us out.

    lol you people are nuts. Practicing layups against the Auslander types isn't going to help this team. Mosley has been missing layups for 4 seasons now. We have 1 ACC caliber starter, probably 2 with Faust, and he is just a freshman. The others are all rotation type players, and Pankey and Weijs don't even fit that category, imo. When a good defensive team puts the clamp on Stoglin, we are sunk. It is what it is this year, we all knew it would be rough.
