This. If you are going to be emphasizing 'Maryland', keep the same visual identity (especially the font which has come to be identified with the late 90s-early 00s glory days). Plus, it also lets them sew together the existing M flag, Testudo, and script Terps with the new emphasis on 'Maryland'.

Maybe there was some licensing issue with Nike (who may have created the font).

The font looks dated. And not in a classic sort of way.

The red is faded; it isn't as deep as it normally is. The font also seems oddly skinny. It just feels like something that would have come out of the 70s. Is that what we really want?

Why is this so hard? Come up with something iconic or stick with what you have. All this turnover without impact just cheapens the brand and makes us look small time.

It definitely doesn't feel unique. Like the Nats first home and away uniforms, it feels like it's just a step away from being put together by MS Word Art.

I appreciate the effort to reach out to the entire state. (Suck it, Yow.) But throwing out "Terps" is baby-with-the-bathwater stuff. The problem isn't that Terps wasn't inclusive; the problem is the name was backed by a *policy* that made it very difficult for constituencies outside the university to identify with the team. It didn't matter what the name was.

By getting rid of "Terps" you are giving up a brand, albeit a quirky one, that people identify with UM sports everywhere. Seems odd.

On the UMTerps Football schedule website I noticed that they replaced the Testudo M logo with the M flag logo for each matchup.
