I haven't read the entire thread but what happened to Curtis Holmes? If I remember this guy was getting mentioned last year as a Tewaarton candidate as a face off specialist, now he's riding the pine.

he only played in garbage time though right? quite a drop off considering how good he was the last few years.

That's the way it goes. My top face off kid for the last two years on the boys team I coach has recently started loosing consistently to a second year player. I have been started the new boy the first two games, and he is 20 out of 22 on face offs. I have recruited a bunch, and really added to my midfield talent/foot speed over the last two years, and we are crushing teams. I don't run the score up, I just have them spot us 10, and then I play my attack at defense, defense at attack, ect. Just let them have fun. As RL said, if you win your face offs you control the ball, if you control the ball you usually win.

Any TV for this game?

Is nova any good? Did we win face offs by 20 again? Are we dominating the way a number one should?

The team apologizes for failing to perform to your expectations. Your disappointment when opening the game summary must have been tremendous.

Good win. Sometimes sports are competitive.

I didn 't go to Philly to see the game, but it looks like the score was close because of a combination of things.

1) A muddy field
2) We were 9/20 on F/O opportunities
3) Nova outshot us 35-26 - thankfully it appears that Amato dominated
4) We had too many penalties and Nova took advantage of the EMO.

We were nearly flawless on clears and took more ground balls.

I was at the game last night. I live right outside of Villanova so it was an easy trip. Here are just a few thoughts:

1) The field wasn't in great shape. It was icy (as were the stands)
2) It was a very sloppy game with lots of silly turnovers on both sides
3) Both goalies were outstanding. Amato had this one incredible 3 save sequence. He also gave up a goal that he probably shouldn't have given up.
4) There were more Maryland fans at the game than Nova fans.
5) We did very poorly on faceoffs.
6) Nova has this one player who can't be much taller than 5' 2".
