Harrison Sr. Refutes Report

    Those of you who are on the site daily can vouch -- I've long held this wouldn't get past early Oct. And here we are.

    I do not feel that is good news. Considering the speculation they were going to Kentucky for MM, imho if they were going to Maryland they would announce during their visit to Maryland during MM. I had a positive feeling until this announcement.

    Who knows right? With as closely as this has been played to the vest by the Harrison's (a real credit to them), I don't know if you can really read into anything.

    It would just be really nice to win a huge recruiting battle, I'm still hopeful though.

    I am very optimistic about the future of this program. We are in good hands.

    I hear ya. Just seems on the heels of this story that the twins were headed to Kentucky for MM... Timing just seems peculiar.
    Needed to speed up the decision so they could let ESPN know, etc. so no one is scheduling or programming around them being at Maryland. I don't know. Everything about speeding the decision up seems negative to me for the Terps.

  • If the worst happens and they commit to UK, I just hope that our fans don't blow up their twitter, facebook, etc. with insulting/vulgar messages.

  • If you tweet anything negative at a recruit after they don't pick your favorite school you are a complete idiot, especially in this case.

    Not to mention how bad it reflects on the fan base regardless of the fact that all schools have retard fans that do it.

  • I wish them best wherever Twins go. I know their dad wants them at MD. If you place yourself in Twins position Kentucky is the glamour school. However, the Twins committing to Kentucky would not be as big news as Twins committing to Maryland. We are on the rise to be a top 10 power. I think Peters is coming, I am told Jordan needs tobe close to home.
    I think they want to put this annoying recruit process to an end.The Twins and family have done nothing wrong in the process, to wish them bad is absurd.
    To mind the only Maryland recruit saga that got ugly was Derrick Williams and UPS.

    Don't forget Logan-El. That was ugly but well deserved.
    "But Antonio Logan-El’s live announcement back in 2006 was met with a slightly harsher response. The Forestville (Md.) High offensive lineman had been committed to Maryland for the better part of a year. While dressed in Maryland red in front of a Terps crowd at the ESPN Sportszone in Maryland — including head coach Ralph Friedgen’s wife — Logan-El first pulled out a Florida hat before tossing it to the ground. He then pulled out a Tennessee hat. That, too, was tossed aside before picking up the Terps black and red headgear. After a few nice words, Logan-El threw his Maryland hat to the ground and held up a picture of Joe Paterno and announced he would be heading to Penn State. The decision was met with screams of “traitor” and violence nearly resulted. Logan-El, much to the pleasure of Terps fans, washed out at Penn State after only one redshirt year."

  • Twins are make or break for this new "era" in recruiting. If you have dad, the local connections and still cant close the deal for whatever reason, will the new regime learn what the old one did about going head to head with the blue bloods? Its tough.

  • on the thursday 6pm sportscenter-- where do you think they will put the harrison twins picking their school story? Maybe the lead story after some NFL stuff? Will they have a breaking news thing at the bottom on ESPN right after the announcement? I think yes.

    agree with this 100% - but we all know what will happen.

    I would hope people (recruits/parents) don't take that stuff too seriously. I mean how easy is it to make up a fake profile, for whatever school you are against, and try to make that fan base look bad thru social media.

    I still can't understand why high-profile athletes/celebs would want to use that stuff anyway - other than the one's who are just desparate for some sort of fame/notoriety...

    Maybe I missed it, but did they ever say they were going to BBM? I thought they said they had fun there last year and it would be fun to go again. Nothing to do with actually going this year.

    Unfortunately, we all know this is going to happen if the twins choose another school. Hopefully recruits out there know that these people exist in every fan base, and they all have their tiny Tweet and message board stages to stand on...

  • Just read an article stating that the Harrison's high school team will be playing at Rupp Arena for a tourney in Late November or early December? Why would there HS team go to Kentucky to play, unless you want the fans of Kentucky to see you up close and personal.

  • The blurb in Zags Blog about Turg having an in-home visit with the twins on Wednesday doesn't bode well for us IMO. Seems to me like it is a courtesy visit to let him know their decision and thank him for considering them prior to making their announcement....just my take.
