The Big Ten presidents took about 2 minutes to unanimously accept Maryland's application.

By the way, the vote to accept Penn State into the Big Ten was not even close to unanimous. It was rumored to be even until PSU was able to convince MSU to switch its vote, partially in exchange for being PSU's "rivalry game."

So in other words, the Big Ten does in fact very much want Maryland.

Why do you think it only took "2" minutes to accept maryland's application?

    TV market. Period.

It's all about money for us and it's all bout money for them.

    That is all

Edit: Also, I'm really sick of the argument that we're trading Duke and UNC for Minnesota and Nebraska. No, we're trading them for Indiana and Michigan St. We're trading Wake Forest and Clemson for Minnesota and Nebraska.

We're also trading Greensboro for Chicago / Indianapolis for sites of basketball tournaments.

Will the B1G BB tournament ever be outside of those cities? I doubt it.

Doesn't matter. They're both legit cities that can be easily reached from this area. For example, Southwest Airlines has multiple non-stop flights each day to both cities from BWI.

So poor college students can now afford to fly to different cities in the midwest to support our team? You can say moving to the B1G is a great move for many reasons, but the ease of transportation accessibility isn't one of them.

  • Going to a basketball tournament in Chicago? What an awesome trip that would be. Chicago is a great city.

So, share the gasoline costs and drive with 3-4 friends. It's about 9-10 hours by car to Indy, which is about double the drive to Greensboro. Would you rather spend a weekend in Indy or Greensboro?

As someone who grew up an hour from Greensboro, who went to a B1G school and spent the weekend at the championship game in Indy this past December, I think everyone here knows the answer to the question of Indy/Chicago vs. Greensboro.

And it's not even close. Even if it is twice the drive. It's not like you have to head out west and drive for 20-30 hours.

And we got a shitty football program to help water down the conference even more. HOORAY! Great day.

    I'd say this was a win-win for Maryland/Nebraska fans...blah.

In college we drove to Daytona and key west for spring breaks. If its important to them it's not a hardship to drive to Indy. Our kids didn't travel to away games...now we care about their travel ease?
