(FREE) Maryland-Wake Forest Player Grades

  • Terps 67, Wake 57: Report Card

Despite some shaky moments, Maryland buckled down on defense and Dez Wells took over to lead the Terps to victory at Wake Forest. Heres our player report card and analysis.

  • I think you are grading on a curve. You are one full grade higher than I would be for every player.

I recognised Wells saved the Terps asses in this game but you cannot give a player an A+ when the player has 5 turnovers and shot 20% (or whatever) from the FT line. The game would not even have needed to be saved if those things weren't sooo bad. Against even an average team this would have been a L.

Funny, I'm usually said to be too strict a grader.

I rarely overlook such things -- this is probably the first A+ in at least a dozen games -- but 11 of 12 from the floor, five rebounds, two steals and two assists while singlehandedly winning the game (and basically saving the season) were enough to compensate for the FTs and TOs.

You say the game wouldn't have needed to be saved without those. Those would have been a moot point had he not carried the entire team for most of the game.
