He's terrible. And I'm not talking about content. His writing style is amatuer at best.

That he was willin to be a mouthpiece for Yow (or anyone, reallly) says all I need to know about his journalistic integrity. There's no need to ever read another piece of garbage he writes.
Add on that he's lazy and talks a big game hike delivering nothing, and he may be the worst thing going in sports journalism right now.

He never was a hit with the fan. Some journalists think want to be the jouranlist to break the big story (Eric Prisbell) rather than the journalist who gives insightful analysis (Patrick Stevens). Prisbell made it clear which type of journalist he wanted to be. He wanted to break the big story. His analysis bordered from fairly intelligent sometimes to what you would expect from an emotional wound up fan after a heartbreaking loss on this messageboard--garbage.

Yeah, right after his "big expose" on NCAA cheating, which has been in the works for years. Never found any story on the Terps he couldn't spin negatively. He is a POS personified. Good riddance.

By circulation and nationwide readership, it's a upgrade. By pay it's probably a push. By content it's not as good, IMO.

he never could accept that he was the beat writer (along with Yanda who was also no good) for Maryland sports and instead of doing well with his duty, he tried to be something and do something that wasn't there.

Definitely not a better job with the shape Gannett is in right now. Probably not quite as prestigious, either. A lateral move at best.

OK. I mean what I am really getting at is did the post realized he sucked and ate voluminous satchels of foreskin so they encouraged him to move on, or was this actually a career upgrade. I'm glad it's at least not the latter.

I honestly think he hated maryland fans criticizing him all the time. He made a point to take shots at us repeatedly in many articles which indicates to me he was pretty sensitive to us thinking he sucked. The sad part is that Liz Clarke kind of sucks as well, at least in some of her coverage of MD.

I like to think that my contact with the Post ombudsman helped lead to his leaving. I'm sure it didn't but I still like to think it.
