Did we get ourselves a lottery pick?

what have you seen out of any of those guys that makes you think they are ahead of this guy?

Again, I'm basing this on the video I've seen which belies Len's stats.

Weijs is skilled but just so thin that it's hard for him to use his skills. Padgett has some post moves and despite suboptimal hands can board a bit. Pankey is a bit of a mystery but his video showed toughness and good hands IIRC.

Based on video alone I doubt he gets much run this season. Looks like a project with big upside in a year or two.

Yeahhh...i dont know about that. I highly doubt Turge would bring in a European '11 if he didnt think he would help ALOT this year. In fact I would be shocked if he didnt start a majority of our games this year.

  • Len gets run.

For such a time as this.

  • Like I said, I have seen video and he looked pretty awful. He's got some athleticism and he's really tall but based on that video he doesn't look serviceable in major college bball. Maybe that video was his worst 10 minutes ever but he got pushed around, missed a dunk, passed the ball to the other team and allowed guys a foot shorter to get shots off near the basket.

I agree that Turge wouldn't bring in a stiff. No reason since we'll be getting studs the next two years (and beyond). My theory is that Len will blossom and be a very effective player down the road and that's why Turge took him.???

  • There's better video out. He's considered the 7th best Euro prospect for his age group and has gotten some lofty (though probably inflated) praise from a few services. Sure he'll develop, but he was brought in with the expectation of being able to contribute (relative to the current bigs on our roster) immediately.

    what video?

I jumped the gun. Based on Shiny's reaction I figured he'd watched a different clip that I'd seen, but looking back at premium posts it was the same Game he commented on.

Not the best footage, but from the write ups I've seen and the individual workout I'm assuming he's shined at other times. I'm no expert but it looks like he brings things to the table that no other big in the program does. Given our frontcourt that's not a glowing endorsement, but I can't imagine Turge being excited or wasting a schollie on someone he doesn't think he could use immediately.

That's the footage I'm referring to. There's like 20 minutes of an U-17 game. I don't know how old that footage is. Hopefully from like two years ago.

I'd expect Weijs, Padge and Pankey to all be ahead of Len on the depth chart based on the video.

Don't quit your day job. Seriously though, we have a strong frontrunner for ridiculous comment of the month here.

I got the shotgun. You got the briefcase. It's all in the game though, right?

Dude, reading comprehension 101. Go watch the video and then tell me I'm wrong.

  • He averaged 16.0 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.3 blocks in nine games (of the Euro Championships 2010)...

you sure you were looking at the right kid (#14 blue)

Reports say he will probably struggle with physical inside game, so I don't expect a ton of scoring from him this year and (assuming he is as good as the hype) hope he stays for 2 before becoming a lottery pick and keeping our euro swag high...
