For all of the awful things that happened this season, the offense seemed only third-worst behind defense and special teams. I'm curious to know - did folks hate this guy and was he behind some of the player issues, or is he proactively jumping off the ship before it hits the bottom of the ocean?

he was fired.... or actually, he didn't sign a contract so he was told not to come back

Wouldn't be surprised at all if he's leaving for the same reason the players ar, i.e sinking ship/Edsall, in addition to dealing with KA

Indeed. I have to assume there's going to be a change at DC too. Crowton was up and down and Danny's development obviously took a step back, but compared to Bradford, Crowton did a stellar job.

This. Glad he is gone, but in order, Rangoon, Bradford and Johnson were all FAR worse.

i dont follow your logic. they both suck. just because one sucks more, doesn't mean they both shouldnt be fired. you can say the same thing about rangoon, who was the biggest failure of all. and from the sound of it, we may have been able to fire crowton because he didn't have a contract, while brafor has a cushy 3 year deal.

If one has a 3 year deal and one has no deal, I know which one would be easier to get rid of first. Hopefully Bradford and Johnson are next.

While it's good that they are making changes,nothing will change that much.The problems all stem from the top KA, and Rangoon.

Just because they released an "unsigned" version of the contract doesn't mean he never signed it - it just means they forwarded the typed-up *.doc file to the press rather than scanning in the actual sheet of paper that Crowton signed.
Why are people assuming that it implies he never signed a contract?

another article said "i am told it is supposed to be signed any day" or something along those lines.
