Ok its hard to determine who you should hate the most. Hell there is a good reason to hate every team. And if not, then they just aren't trying hard enough dammit. Hate is a fun thing. That being said, there is one thing that will be overpowering in the hate deal. Some of you will make the trip. Not that long of a drive, so you will do it. About the time you are halfway through Toledo you will start to notice it. What the fuck is that smell? It will get stronger as you drive through Toledo, until it finally hits you like a brick. You will think "Christ I feel like I just stuffed my face into a sack of smashed assholes". That's when you pass the sign, "Michigan Welcomes You". Enjoy that trip. Its then when you question why we don't beg Canada to take them. Please. Just take them...
My take on all of this is how I pick an EPL team. Go in with a semi-blank slate. I know probably DISLIKE a couple teams... United, City, Chelsea, but don't hate them yet. Give it some time, some viewing, see which teams pop out. We need some history before hatred.
this strat didnt work too well for me. i went into the EPL with rule #1 that i wouldnt be a United fan. and thats what i became :(
I like Illinois but I upvoted you for effort. I met a girl getting her law degree from gtown who got her undergrad at Illinois. She was the biggest whore in the world. She wanted me to beat her so bad it me uncomfortable. She wanted her roommates and neighbors to her and me and told me to yell at her.
When I think of Illinois, I think of her so I doubt there is anything you could do to make me hate your school.
MARYLAND. The area they’re now calling the DMV—D.C./Maryland/Northern Virginia—might be the country’s richest talent mine.
The answer to this thread is easy. It is the school from the state that borders Maryland and protected a child rapist.
They are #1, the debate is who should be #2
Ped State no doubt, should be numero uno on the hate list.
Honestly, as upset as I was about the move to the Big 10 (or whatever it is you call yourselves, however you denote it with letters and numbers) this possibility is one of the things that has made me turn around so quickly.
I'm not worried about our basketball. I'm confident we're moving in the right direction quickly and will be able to compete at the top of your conference, and nationally, soon enough.
What's different is the potential upside for our football team. Frankly, with the late Fridge decline and the early Edsall mess I'd figured it would be a while before we could ever get even to the mildly competitive, once-in-a-while-semi-decent-Bowl status that was about what I figured was the best we could hope for. But, frankly, if Nebraska and Ohio State start coming into Byrd and we can generate enough excitement to build on the recent local recruiting momentum -- and maybe raise even our regional profile as a better option than the ACC or Big East -- I think we could get to be very competitive in the not-too-distant future.
I still wish we didn't have Edsall, but I'm resigned at this point and maybe he'll prove me -- and a lot of others -- wrong. Or maybe he'll get hit by a bus.
Pitt as our rival was the last straw for me. Agree on the basketball & football future.
Tri-Delt or Kappa Alpha Theta?

Wasn't it Pitt and UVa? I thought everyone had 2.
Not that it makes a big difference.
To be honest I can't recall and can't seem to find any motivation to read about anything related to the All Carolina Conference.
I do recall thinking that given how many "MD Fans" interest revolves on the UNC and Duke games, that it seemed that MD was about to take a big hit on season tickets and donations.
Was just going to be Pitt until ND joined the conference.
You really think if we're playing top-5/10/15 Ohio State, Indiana, Michigan and/or Michigan State teams there are enough ticketholders and/or donors who'll drop off because those teams aren't UNC or Duke to classify the loss as a "big hit"? I suppose there may be some, but it seems to me that by the time you get to to people who buy season tickets or donate to the program you're probably past most people who are casual enough fans for the switchoff from traditional rival top teams to non-traditional rival top teams to make that much of a difference.
I'd like to welcome the Terps to the B1G, I feel this is a good move for both parties, more specifically the party of Terps. I believe your new rival is in NJ though. No offense but I just don't see PSU as your new rival because I feel a rivalry takes competitiveness, the 35-1-1 record isn't all that competitive.........again no offense..........Basketball wise I feel Maryland made the right choice........the ACC used to dawg the B1G but not as of late, the B1G is becoming a top notch basketball conference, not too top heavy like most conferences are.
I'm glad the B1G invited you, your athletics dept. was taking a hit financially and i'm glad too see the future looks bright in the B1G. I feel we will move to 16 with the presence of Ga Tech and a toss up between another school on the coast.
Those who leave, will be champions. - Justin Boren
The past record means squat. We haven't played a game twenty years. Further, rivalries encompass more sports than just football. The fact remains that we are bordering states, fanbases with fans that already don't like each other due to pro sports teams and schools without legitimate rivals.

"It's just so hard," Greivis said. "It's my heart, my love. Maryland made me who I am."
Also the whole we don't condone raping children thing.
I'm liking Hogie.....you'll be banned on the PSU board just like me and my brother are....haha
i don't even know you and i hate your guts
As a former Illini alumni, I would put a vote for a crack-ho alma mater, Illinois, too!
One more reason, most Illini are from Chicago. Chicagoans talk about politics all the time. They are arrogant know-it-all about the subject and think that anyone with a Southern accent (including people from DownstateIllinois) and even mildly socially conservative are inbred morons. Then Google "Illinois Governors in prison." There no group in the USA that so politically militant and less qualified to vote!
Trust me, the Big 10 is a bad neighborhood and you should have held out for SEC membership.
WTF Illinois you can't vote for yourself and most of your reasons suck anyway.
We're gonna like this conference...all the arrogance of Dook without the fawning knob-slurping media-whoredom...
Ohio State #2.
Penn State - because they are close, because they are rednecks... and because I have a son...
Sometimes I wonder if the Big Ten fans even have the level of hatred that we possess in our hearts.
