If only there was a thread that discusses any and all conference realignment issues....
Yeah, cuz this ain't a bigger deal than Tulane to the BE or anything...
Definitely better than the B1G in basketball.
And probably in fb as well...
Guessing someone didn't watch basketball last night.
Yes, a #3 team beating a #18 team at home, and a #1 team beating a #14 team at home, is, like, totally damning...
ACC will be adding Cuse, Pitt, and Louisville.
B1G will be adding MD.
That is so ridiculous that you had to be chuckling when you typed it.
If our exit fee gets reduced due to replacing us then I am happy about it.
That's ridiculous how?
Purdue planning on cloning Bob Griese or something?
I'm not even sure what the ACC is doing at this point.
"Probably better in fb too?" Really?!? The ACC is probably still better in basketball but the B1G is closing the gap. They have won 3 straight ACC-B1G challenges and I believe they have been sending more teams to the dance then the ACC.
And I should add once again:
Conference realignments are about fooball money and not about competitive sports.
(BTW: I am not a big basketball fan, so I need to be refreshed. Did not Michigan State, a B1G team, make more final four appearances in the last decade than any other team? And then there was last night, the ACC/B1G Challenge...hmmmm... looks to me like the Terps path to the final four in the future will be no easier than when we were in the ACC. But then what do I know? I am a fb fan. )
The ACC hasn't been better in basketball since the 2009 season
"Maryland football: Where everybody gets hurt and the starting left tackle has an existential crisis."
Again, the ACC, which has dominated the Challenge for more than a decade, is adding 3 of the top 15 programs in college basketball.
The B1G is adding, uhh, Md.
As for fb -- we all know how the B1G has performed historically OOC.
Having a lot of alums doesn't translate to success.
You think the ACC has more pro's in the NFL than the B1G for some conspiratorial reason?

In what universe are Pitt and ND top 15 bball programs?
When was the B1G's last national championship?
Michigan -- 1989
tOSU -- when Bobby Knight was a PLAYER
MSU -- 2000
IU -- 1986
ACC has won 5 NC's since the B1G's last NC.
Pitt, Cuse, and Ville are all top 15.
lol dont feed the jealous troll. NOD dont you have a porn collection to back up on a thumb drive or something?
US News rankings - top public universities:
#19 MD - leaving
#51 NC State
#87 - Louisville
LOL great move

You are glad to be in the ACC. We are glad to going to the Big 10. So everybody's happy!
The ACC is slowly turning into the Big East and that conference has been dying a slow death. If FSU and Clemson or VT bolt for the BIG 12 the league will implode. UNC, UVa and GT will have a soft landing somewhere. Schools like Gerogetown and Duke will be s.o.l. so I understand why you are hoping for ACC stability. The nice thing about being in the Big 10 is that our conference will never collapse around us and we will never end up talking to Georgetown about a basketball only league.

I'd love to see your list of top 15 programs if you think pitt belongs
This is why William & Mary is next in our expansion plan...

Name your top 15 right now.
Way to deflect from your terrible opinion. I'll put it this way. If pitt is a top 15 program shouldn't they make it past the sweet 16 more than once every 40 years.
Duke would automatically be the best school academically in whatever league they joined.
And the best basketball program, with the largest TV pull.
And their fb coach, who just led them to a bowl game, is signed for the net 6 yrs.
I'm about as unworrieed about Duke's fortunes as one could be for one's alma mater.
This is about the ACC replacing a sports program with a better sports program.
That's about your average...
