UVA and UNC are like the friends you invited to a work friend's party, but we bring a couple of dickheads with us (NCSU and VT) who try to steal his stereo equipment and hit on his wife.

From the Sabre:
I did not say that a ten team league was realistic (which I do not), just
what I would like to see. With regards to atmosphere -- games in
Charlottesville are fun for everyone, including the visitors. Fans at UVa
understand that it is just entertainment and that it does not mean
anything beyond a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. I sincerely hope
that everyone who comes to Scott feels welcome and is not subjected to
anything that would reflect poorly on the University or its supporters. I
was at this year's LSU-Alabama game and that crowd was pretty bad
(throwing drinks, chanting profanity, threatening violence to complete
strangers whose only offense was backing a different school). I never
want that to be associated with UVa. I have always viewed UVa as a
classy place and I think our atmosphere reflects that. But I agree we
need to fill those empty seats.
If he is representative maybe they should switch over to a gentlemanly game like cricket. Seriously, sports are fun because we care, we save our civility for other things like...okay maybe he's just a better person than me but I can't think of anything. School I guess?
I've been to the B1G

ok, this reminded me why uva sucks. no longer want them in our conference. rutgers, unc and gt, plz
C'mon it's from the Sabre, obviously a VaTech troll trying to make us ALL look like UVa dorks.
GTFO I do not want UVA to share in our riches and happiness, leave them in the Big East
Definitely. They waited to see if the ACC would sink or swim in 1953, then jumped aboard in 1954 when they saw it was viable.
Call me a relic, call me what you will,
Say I'm old-fashioned, say I'm over the hill....
If the B1G is going to keep the "virtuous" or "traditional" contiguous states model, then UVA is a necessary evil to get UNC, if it were to want to go that route.
So....interestingly enough......whispers have begun about our level of reciprocal interest in the B1G. This could be a fun few months, although from a political standpoint, I think we pretty much have to wait on Clemson and FSU to bail to the Big 12 so we can make the "we don't have a choice" argument.....
You guys didn't have to shit your pants tonight in protest of our move.
If i were you guys i wouldn't wait, I'd start putting posters on telephone poles tonight to try to find someone who'll take NCState....it might take some time. Maybe there's a bulletin board at the library?
we accomplished that quite naturally.....we'll have a few more of those too.....young team that's gonna hit some pretty serious speedbumps along the way.

NC State should tag along with ECU... That's about their level honestly....
Those guys will fight to the absolute death in the legislature if this actually comes down the pipe. They know good and well the second we sign on for another major conference (be it B1G or SEC) without them; their athletic department is nuked forever. Like, shock and awe, smoking hole in the ground, forever hold your peace type nuked.
I don't see them not landing in the SEC along with VT.
It seems that many of the Wolfies are convinced the SEC has a freshly made bed and a clean set of towels waiting for them. If the big meteor hits the parceling of the North Carolina schools will be an interesting study.
Mark Gottfried cheating in the SEC would be amazing.
"And I try to har-mo-nize with songs the lonesome sparrow sings...
There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden."
kentucky, tennessee, vanderbilt anybody?
Edit: 3 teams struggling hardcore in the SEC and not keeping up while the rest of the conference just keeps getting better. sounds like a perfect fit strictly for competition purposes

NC State would end up in the SEC or Big 12 & would be just fine......in fact, might be better off than UNC in the Big 10 in terms of football recruiting.
1) Yes, SEC wants a piece of the NC market.
2) No, they're still State.
Read my writings to nobody in general:
No doubt this would be my preference.
If FSU left, I don't think UNC would have a problem walking away from Duke. However, would the Big10 and SEC (or maybe also Big12) have to tacitly and simultaneously cooperate with one another with the agreement that they would each take one school from NC and VA? They would also need to agree on who takes who. UNC is obviously the biggest prize among the four, especially to the Big10 since it doesn't have any prescence in NC.
The bottom line is if FSU did leave, they would all be worse off because the ACC's future negotiating power would be shit. They would all get a better deal if they left no matter where it was they were going. Hopefully, this point is not lost on anyone involved in this decision, and they would all land on their feet. UVA is the only one I would think that may even be iffy.
