At the half: Ohio State has 5 and Witchita State has 3. THIS is what good teams do. I smiled as I saw that flashed on the screen and said......fuck, we can have 3-5 turnovers in 2-3 minutes. If we could have 3-5 turnovers in a half, we'd be virtually improssible to beat. So much upside with JUST one good point guard. Just one.
If the team was only going to work on one thing between now and next season, it should be cutting down on turnovers. If we even had just an average team with respect to turnovers this season, I've got to think that we win AT LEAST three more game this year, and we're in the big dance. It would be easy to blame the lack of a point guard, but Dez Wells and our post players have an inordinate number of turnovers for their positions as well. It's a team-wide thing, and I hope they really improve on that next season.
The team has already cut down on turnovers. As for the OP, yes, most teams are successful when they have 3 turnovers per half
9/21/2010...RIP Old IMS.
So turnovers were an issue with this team? Thanks for the report, good to know.
We had more than turnover problems. We had a bad shot problems too. e.g. last game where dez tries to go 1 on 4 instead of draining the clock. We had a lot of brain farts (turnovers and bad shots) at the end of games this year.
I think a pg would alleviate some of those, but it's still a bball IQ problem as a team which turge needs to pound in practice and offseason.
