it's still a charity/educational foundation. It's not really a mortgage processing unit, so functionally the organization isn't really built-out to deal with monthy payments.
Lifetime membership/benefits were offered in the 70/80's. Unless you are grandfathered in, you are an annual donor (current gift = current level)
Understood, but from a customer service perspective where they are hoping to gather more money from folks, why prove you can't do something?

I don't disagree with you. I don't think we take in a ton of money via the monthly debit/payment thing, but I agree if you can't do it completely right, don't do it at all.
